Nah, Doucoure usually just gives the ball away with a bad pass rather than being fouled. I think you're on your own on this one trying to blame Patterson for any part in the goal..UnsyisaRhino wrote: ↑Sat May 03, 2025 11:02 pm If it had been doucs giving the ball away instead of Patterson flopping for them to break and score. We'd all find a way to include him in the blame.
From that moment we never got our shape back. Doesnt mean he's to blame but that was the seed of their attack

Re: Patterson Future
If he was fouled why was the goal allowed? I missed the first half so haven't seen.

Re: Patterson Future
I wasn't saying doucs would be fouled, I meant him giving it away.
He goes down rather than getting on with it, they then break from that area of the pitch while hes feigning injury, we panic and lose our shape and they score.
Yes others should have done better, but he played a part in the same way a bad doucs pass would have, or a bad touch from beto.

Re: Patterson Future
It was a bit soft and they don't always get given, var must have cleared it or decided it was too far removed from the final move.Audrey Horne wrote: ↑Sat May 03, 2025 11:23 pm If he was fouled why was the goal allowed? I missed the first half so haven't seen.
Re: Patterson Future
If he doesn't stay on the floor and carry on with the game I don't think we concede the equaliser, the overload came from him being nowhere to be seen.
Re: Patterson Future
Yep, he went down and hoped he would get a foul. Huge gamble as he could have tracked back and been on that back stick.

Re: Patterson Future
He's crap. Might very well in part be our fault but he's a poor defender and there's no real output attacking wise either

Re: Patterson Future
Two years left on his contract, loan next season to either get him ready to play for us or to at least increase his value, as he’s worth diddly squat at the moment.777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Sun May 04, 2025 11:12 am He's crap. Re: Patterson Future
He looks like he missed playing a lot of football during a crucial period of development. His positioning and decision-making are massively underdeveloped.
I feel for him. This was not a safe situation for him to walk into with the club constantly fighting for its top flight life and injuries didn’t help his cause.

Re: Patterson Future
Yeah if he got straight back up after trying to win the foul, he might have made it back to pick the man up at the back post. I think Moyes will be saying the same thing to him.
Re: Patterson Future
He's not the player I thought he was tbh. I thought he'd be a lot more of a natural full-back with offering overlaps and underlaps for the winger but he seems quite reticent to get forward. Maybe that's because he's concerned about his defensive ability but still.

Re: Patterson Future
I actually think he's worse offensively than both Job and mykolenko. He doesn't even want to get up the pitch
Re: Patterson Future
His potential has disappeared and now he's just underwhelming. Could be his injuries, his lack of opportunities, who knows, but he's not the one. I prefer O'Brien there.

Re: Patterson Future
Personally, I think this move to Everton has been awful for him, he even joined the club at a turbulent time when the manager then was sacked a week later.
I feel sorry for him and I think a fresh start somewhere else will do him good and help him become a key player in the Scotland team.

Re: Patterson Future
Also maybe he's someone who we build up to something he never was and now he's got an excuse. He wasn't getting regular football in Scotland either. Goes on the list with gomes and Gbamin now where we just assume they'd have been great but for something without any evidence they were ever really any good
