I don't want it to happen, but the reality is that we probably need to sell. I just hope we can see out the end of the season with both him and Onana.

Ultimately though, if they offer silly money, we have to accept.

Obviously would love him to stay for a while, but best case scenario with a player like this is a move abroad for a lot of money so we don’t have to watch him play against us. By a lot of money, for me it should mean 100 million or at least rising to that, you can tell he’s quality and even relegated teams don’t let players go cheaply these days so neither should we.

Couldn’t stand him going to somewhere like Spurs, I’d practically prefer administration.

Same shit different decade, we've always sold our best to relieve the pressure brought on by the disastrous running of the club.

How much have 777 lent us? £160m isn't it?

How much are Onana and Branthwaite worth? £160m?

It'll happen because they can immediately wipe any debt they're owed the moment they take over.

Rather he went abroad than stayed in the Prem anyway.

The important thing from here on in is how we reinvest.

Ideal scenario is we keep them both until the summer, massive moves for the pair of them, recoup 150-160m and buy three or fours proven players that improve the starting 11 immediately, as well as take a punt on the next couple of youngsters also

How hard can that actually be??

We won't reinvest the money, nothing about 777 suggests they're here for anything other than make a profit when they sell down the line.

They've invested £160m on top of any payments they'll make for the actual buying of the club, so they'll look to recoup that ASAP without further investment.

There's a very real possibility we'll replace Branthwaite with Keane, and someone free or very cheap to replace Onana.

It’s a very scary thought. There is a real possibility of this happening.

Jarrad is the key to us becoming a decent side again. The most talented player to come through the ranks since Rooney. He is better than Stones and I couldn’t rate him more highly for a centre back. Has the opportunity to be the best.

I would be absolutely gutted should he leave, but I understand if a world record bid comes in that we will probably have to accept.

You'd hope 777 would understand that selling Branthwaite and Onana mid season could relegate us, which would make their investment worth much less... So I'm blindly hoping they wait until the summer.

They might not actually get in before the end of the window too which would be a saving grace, but who knows what power they are exerting behind the scenes already.

I'm ok with him going to Real (as long as we recruit well). It'll be for a tasty fee, we won't have to see him playing against us or doing well in the same league (for a while) and that means we can continue to enjoy his development and football (and be proud that we were part of getting him to that level).

It's unavoidable that he makes the step up long before we do as a club, and it's much easier to enjoy that from afar (rather than Stones at City).
