Dyche - HE'S GONE
Re: Dyche
I think a lot of managers like easing new signings in at the start of the season so he’s not unique in that.
But he is overly cautious in how he picks his teams in general.
It’s why I don’t think lindstrom will do well here. I can’t see Sean dyche trusting him to play over Harrison or McNeil.
It will be another Danjuma situation. I’am certain of that.
This is where he lets himself down. Sometimes you have to sacrifice a few yards going backwards to be better going forwards.
We have very good defenders and a great goalkeeper. We can leave them a little bit more exposed to have better quality going forward.
Felt like Brighton were happy to leave Harrison in acres of space at the weekend, knowing we’d play the obvious ball and he’d do nothing with it.
Doucoure over the ill man I get, especially against Brighton.
Keane over Obrien was just ridiculous. Again, I get the logic, but Keane is absolutely done as an Everton player. Whilst I imagine obrien will have mistakes in his game, as least there’s an upside of a player who can grow and develop.
This is the one massive flaw in how dyche manages.

Re: Dyche
Beyond any of that though keeping us up with no signings and dcl injured was impressive. Beyond any of that 48 points last season was impressive. Seems like small complaints when the end result are him doing a good jobKerryblueboy wrote: ↑Mon Aug 19, 2024 8:46 am I don’t know any Everton fan who thinks we should be challenging for Europe I know a lot that think dyche could be more flexible and open to a bit of change we spent money play the new players and give them their chance

Re: Dyche
People seem to think we should be kicking on: Dyche has been here a while and made a few signings etc. But we haven’t signed anyone who’s moved the needle. Palace sold JOB for a million, last season. Illy and Linsdtrom failed at their last clubs. Harrison is a warm body. Nothing’s changed in my book. Our squad is miles off likes of Bournemouth, West Ham or Fulham - teams are we’d expect to beat and finish above. Our spend over the last 5 years is less than a lot of Championship clubs.

Re: Dyche
Palace sold him 3 years ago to Belgium then Lyon bought him start of last season but don’t bother with the facts if they don’t suit your narrativeGranite wrote: ↑Mon Aug 19, 2024 9:33 am People seem to think we should be kicking on: Dyche has been here a while and made a few signings etc. But we haven’t signed anyone who’s moved the needle. And he was on loan in Belgium. Palace sold him last year to Lyon.Kerryblueboy wrote: ↑Mon Aug 19, 2024 9:44 am Palace sold him 3 years ago to Belgium then Lyon bought him start of last season but don’t bother with the facts if they don’t suit your narrative
I’d probably have started him against Brighton, but he looked lost against Roma.

Re: Dyche
He has to play to get better we know what Keane is about like someone else said in a better run club Keane holgate and young would be out the door I thought he did ok against Roma but that’s dyche way although he seems to have put Tim in at the deep end straight away
Re: Dyche
Can I just say I don't personally think getting pumped at home to Brighton is that bad, we won't be the only side they turn over.
I just do not like the man, or the wider malaise he represents, even if I can acknowledge he is one of the few things standing between us and obliteration.

Re: Dyche
It's a team game, so it's hard to attribute fault unless it's a real clanger, but 2 of the goals he was close to the action where I think he could've made a more positive impact, but he and Tarks kept backing off to the point the striker had little choice but to pass the ball into the net

Re: Dyche
I like him.
I think he is extremely limited and I also think that he is acutely aware of his own limitations. Because of this he tries to be super-pragmatic and place enormous importance on things like fitness and the basics. It also means he does things like let DCL fully recover before rushing him back because he would rather have a fit striker for the last 5 games than risk him for the last 10.
He plays totally safe, all the time and this can be seen in his over cautious tactics, his sticking with his favourites and his late and limited substitutions.
He is what he is, but right now he’s the right man for the job. Until the boardroom shit gets sorted and Thelwell starts delivering a squad for the future, he’ll do.
