Summer Transfer Window 2026
Re: Summer Transfer Window 2026
The deal for Alistair Johnston is not totally dead but hit a stumbling block over a difference of around £5M
Aaron Wan-Bissaka is another option but is considered a non-starter currently due to his wages.
There is not universal support for a move for Brooke Norton-Cuffy

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2026
AWB is on similar wages to Johnson and would be guaranteed to start every week, whereas im not sure Johnson will, so that makes senseBrownie wrote: ↑Tue Aug 11, 2026 11:21 amEverton hope a Right Back can be added before their season opener against Crystal Palace.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2026
Apparently Bobble has said on one of the podcasts that there will be movement on a right back in the next 10 days.
God knows we've been waiting for movement from one of our right backs for years.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2026
That points to Johnston as Celtic want to keep him until after their champions league qualifier

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2026
This makes me think Moyes doesn’t want him. This late in the day, if he was available and the manager wanted him, having worked with him, it would be getting done.

Can’t ruin the transfers thread so putting here
Have you seen the stickers on the lamp post at the end?

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2026
Mad that if we get a decent right back I reckon this goes from a poor to very good transfer window for us.
Re: Summer Transfer Window 2026
Its crazy isnt it. I know our shortcomings as a squad but just the added natural width and O'Brien being a CB sorts us out.
We could do that then maybe sell Beto and upgrade our striker options think we have a decent squad.
Re: Summer Transfer Window 2026
Sell Beto, make our statement with Kofane.
Very different vibe around here if we can pull that off before the buzzer.
Re: Summer Transfer Window 2026
I think this is very generous.
Every single player signed so far is a huge question mark, or we had them last year and they hardly played.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2026
It was, yeah, but the bit at the end with the lamp post is about all signings, not just BJ.
Re: Summer Transfer Window 2026
Yeah, I was just thinking that, despite all the doom and gloom the window is starting to shape up quite well, a right back in and we'll have also bought some good young players into the squad. On top of that hopefully Dibling can have a good season, Branthwaite stays fit, Armstrong can get a decent loan etc.
