Financial Fairplay Investigation - 2025 Nobody in Breach
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - 4 Points Back
There's been rumours for months that Leicester were holding the cat's arse a bit to close to the fire with FFP. Be a real shame if they came up, couldn't buy anyone and headed straight back down again. I know we've no room to gloat but..................
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - 4 Points Back
Rather they came up then got hit with the points deduction instead.
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - 4 Points Back
The twitter finance fella saying we are at risk for 23/24 as well, which I suppose makes sense if our last accounts were a heavy enough loss.
When do we get out of this? How do we get out of it?
A sale in June?

Sell Branthwaite for £40m
Buy that lad at Hull for £20m on 5 year deal
Accounts show us up £36m
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - 4 Points Back
Branthwaite by the end of June and we should be okay.
Problem here is that no one will want to spend money before first of July because of their own FFP calculations, and also they all know we're in the shit and will need to sell so will leave it as late as possible. And potentially the Euros.

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - 4 Points Back
I wonder if Pickford could be sold. Great keeper but must be on a good wedge. Joa is a decent replacement seeing as he hasn't put a foot wrong when used. Getting itchy feet too... financially he'd be a sound investment. Braithwaite we must try and keep until we must sell or he wants to go... shit scenarios all round.
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - 4 Points Back
Weren't they changing the rules to being wages as a % of turnover instead?
Or is that a different season or not at all?

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - 4 Points Back
FY23/24 finishes in June. New rules won't be voted on until August. You can't retrospectively apply rules when no one would have been trying to abide by them, so current rules will apply for the current season/financial period.

Hang on, don't accounts follow the financial year?
Always thought it was April to March and that's why season tickets go on sale so early, because one year somebody wanted to boost the current year's accounts and so they were stuck in th cycle (back in the day before direct debits and loans against future sales etc)
