Common sense is disappearing on here again. Shouts of just pay the money. I don't think we've learnt a lot as a fanbase. Moshiri was an absolute disaster but his ridiculous decisions were cheered on by the fans til we ran out of money. I'd just like us to be very clear on value and stick to it
I’d normally be with you on the financial responsibility above all else side of things but it’s been such a slog the past few seasons and the idea of Ndiaye and Grealish (and maybe also Dibling) taking the piss out of opposing midfields and defenses, wriggling away from pressure, winning tons of fouls, and generally being a nuisance to dispossess kinda has me excited as an identity for the upcoming season.

Can’t make a habit of deals like this, it’s not sustainable longer term, but making one possibly slightly irresponsible splash for a top player who actually works his socks off for the team has the potential to spark a lot of joy and properly kickstart things at the new stadium.

Exactly this

“It’s not my money” wasn’t a great strategy by my recollection

Plenty of fans saw the disasters from the off with Moshiri and Koeman, no way that's happening again.

Think of all the chances we’d create from all the free kicks he’d win us

Wonder what his fitness level is ? Hasn’t been training with the City squad for over a month now.

Has he not? Pretty sure I saw a video of him doing so recently?

Three page article on him in the Times today

Grealish, who sacrificed his style for substance, looks like yesterday's man. He has trained alone at City in July and, in recent days, with a
personal fitness coach. At 29, he is out in the cold.

It is never a particularly comfortable experience, picking through a growing sense of failure, this time for Grealish, that sees a trajectory running from long stints on the substitutes' seats at the Etihad Stadium, through Wearside working men's clubs on drinking sessions, to holidays in the
Balearics, but the sense remains that his eye has been taken off the ball.
It was after Manchester City's FA Cup win against Plymouth in March that Grealish ended up drinking in the North Biddick Social Club in the North East (he is friends with Jordan Pickford's brother Richard Logan).
He posed for pictures with babies and was said to have put £500 behind the bar for other punters. Again, that feels like Gascoigne. He has spent time this summer on Ibiza. There are fewer on-pitch stories for a man who became a father in September.

Ah ok, not ideal then but I'd imagine he's in decent condition though. Probably need to get him in asap though rather than deadline day if he's not training with the team or getting any minutes in friendlies.

I know I've questioned his commitment but I think people are going a bit OTT when they start mentioning Alli and Gascoigne.

Feels like a bit of an OTT hit piece that. How many other footballers went on holiday to Ibiza this summer?

The Gazza comparison is pretty poor taste tbh.

Would post a link to the entire three page article if it didn’t give my account details, maybe someone else is able ?
Or if you all promise not to use my credit card details I will do so?

Don't post anything with your credit card details in here mate, appreciate the offer but you never know who might use or share that information.
