New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
This is incredible news.So happy with this. I will certainly be attending a few games.

Shame, it doesn't sound like much is getting knocked down. I thought all but the Park End would go and they'd use it as the main stand. That might happen in time but it doesn't sound like it, not really a fan of Goodison being bastardised to cut costs and also makes the whole 'final season' feel a bit of an empty gesture.

No other club supporter will say they'll be visiting two fantastic stadiums of the same club when in the area.
I'll certainly will be doing this when up next.
Absolutely made up with this decision.

Went to the derby there this year with the family and definitely more kids than a men's match day and the gender balance not as slanted but still lots of blokes in fairness and YNWA got roundly booed by man, woman and child round by me in the family enclosure.Audrey Horne wrote: ↑Tue May 13, 2025 4:24 pm Mainly women but more men go than I thought there would.
Lots of kids too.

Going to be a busy summer of renovation given every season ticket holder in the ground has the right to buy their seat and the pitch is being dispatched round the world in pieces as well!

The more I think about this it wouldn’t surprise me if it’s a psr thing, we sell the stadium to the “ladies” and in 12 months time they’ll say it’s not feasible and sell to developers.
Just a way of being able to spend this summer on the rebuild.
I hope not.

It's absolutely fine for other clubs to circumvent psr in this sort of manner, so if it is just for psr, good luck to them.Bluebridge wrote: ↑Tue May 13, 2025 5:14 pm The more I think about this it wouldn’t surprise me if it’s a psr thing, we sell the stadium to the “ladies” and in 12 months time they’ll say it’s not feasible and sell to developers.

I just worry about that safety certificate that's due to expire any day now...

From a selfish angle I’m glad I can take my kid to a game at goodison still.
Beyond that though I don’t see this being a success, there simply isn’t enough demand for the women’s game to run a dedicated stadium of that size and probably won’t be within the next

Seems more like they don’t want to spend for the regeneration project that the community really needs.
I think it will be an experiment for a few years and then they’ll walk it back

Impossible to tell really. Arsenal women get 25k minimum at the Emirates when they play there. The likes of Barca/Lyon/Real Madrid get absolutely huge crowds. If they want to actually fill Goodison then it would take some investment in the team itself and obviously make the right decisions in terms of pricing/engagement.StirlingBlue wrote: ↑Tue May 13, 2025 7:09 pm From a selfish angle I’m glad I can take my kid to a game at goodison still.

A massive exercise class on the pitch titled that would have been an amazing EITC money spinner right before the pitch was relayed at some point.
Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
The women’s side will grow massively over the next few decades, and so investment in that part of the club is a good decision over the long term. It’s a certainty that attendances will grow from where they are, and that the women’s game will become a much larger industry than it is today.
However, from a financial perspective, there are a lot of questions about keeping Goodison. Short term, it could be an expensive investment, but one that could really benefit us in the long term.
How much will it cost each year to ensure that Goodison remains a safe and viable place to host football matches?
Will there be any planned redevelopment work to Goodison?
I am sure we will find out in due course what the plans are.
What’s super exciting though is imagining a situation where the women’s team are getting great crowds at Goodison, standing on their own two feet in terms of financials, winning titles and creating their own history.
It’s a pretty unique opportunity.

Kinda makes a mockery of Moshiris comment saying part of the reason for moving was structurally.
Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
Have to do it properly.
If it's taken down properly to be a little gem of a stadium with tasteful hints of it's former self - fab.
If it's essentially mothballed and this is an excuse to not touch it for two years, it's bad.
