End of Moshiri - Friedkin, APPROVAL AGREED
Re: End of Moshiri - Friedkin Purchase Falls Through
Fans really have to stop worrying about the level of debt. The absolute level is irrelevant. It’s the amount it costs to service that debt and whether you have the ability to comfortably cover that cost of debt.
Its really of no concern if your revenue more than covers the payments. You can still make a profit despite having debt. Its whether than debt is sustainable and serviceable.
Apple have $101bn of debt, and it’s fairly obvious why no one is worrying about them.
It’s the same with any company. And the fact is that the majority of our debt has been to invest in the clubs assets.
Long term, this is a game changer for the club. It will result in more revenue across the board forever. £600m will pale into significance when you consider that the next 100-150 years of revenue will be increased by £50m-£100m per year. Add inflation onto those increases and the effects are enormous.

Pink, Taylor Swift, Elton John, The Rolling Stones, The Eagles,Take That, Bon Jovi, have all performed in a decrepid Anfield stadium, there’s only one stadium in Liverpool where artists of this calibre will perform in future and that’s BMD !

I think people are overestimating the mark up on restaurants and concert halls.
Re: End of Moshiri - Friedkin Purchase Falls Through
Also. If I'm not mistaken, BMD has been selected as one of the grounds to be in use for Euro 2028, but they haven't selected Anfield. Could be wrong there though.

Your right about restaurants, bloody difficult to make a profit but Venue rental income for concerts is low overhead high margin business, the promoter carries the risk.MayorFarnham wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 3:45 pm I think people are overestimating the mark up on restaurants and concert halls.

Wembley takes circa 10% of gate receipts.MayorFarnham wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 3:45 pm I think people are overestimating the mark up on restaurants and concert halls.
Bramley Moore would have a concert capacity of what, 55k (people on the pitch replace the closed stand plus a bit).
£100 a pop nowadays. Just over half a million per concert.
At the moment we make about that per game. Which includes tickets. But it's realistic to expect us to be earning 6/700k a concert. They add up if you do half a dozen a year.

Not at the prices they charge at these type of venues.MayorFarnham wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 3:45 pm I think people are overestimating the mark up on restaurants and concert halls.

A takeover that pays off debt and move to the BMD will result in an immediate £40 million annual change to our bottom line (£20m less interest to pay, £20m increase in matchday revenue).
Maybe that grows as naming rights are sold, events, etc, that is harder to predict.
We are still going to have to sell to buy but we won't need to sell to stay afloat. We've been asset stripping for years from the squad to keep the lights on and have been lucky to circle the drain and not go down.

It's a bit of astretch to expect even 12 concerts a year attracting 52 thousand people. I doubt there's that many in the whole of UK in a year.superpull wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 4:01 pm Wembley takes circa 10% of gate receipts.

Anfield has been putting on 4 or 5 a year for the last 3 years
Re: End of Moshiri - Friedkin Purchase Falls Through
Textor needs to get this done, with the never present Moshiri we are sleepwalking into relegation. For me it ms a bigger problem than Dyche, Young, Keane etc etc.
The whole club is sinking in spite of the Bramley Moore project.
The whole aura of our club and s playing out on the pitch

Not sure I'm happy contemplating anything at all about John Textor whilst he still owns part of Palace. The number of stories/interviews/articles around him is crazy.
All this speculation is hope on a whim, which I think is just drummed up in the media to promote a competitive process to buy us, and could well evaporate. Lots of noise but nothing happening.
I want to buy us too, but it's just my lack of being a billionaire preventing me from doing so. I am working on resolving it though.
