Dwight McNeil
Re: Dwight McNeil
Thought he did well, he's a good footballer and although we didn't create anything second half there were numerous times where him, Alcaraz and Garner played these little first time passing triangles that really stood out.
I worry better teams nullify him by now letting him cut in on his left from that side but give me McNeil there over Harrison every day of the week.

Re: Dwight McNeil
He's one of the few in attacking spaces that you could say is reliably productive, which is a big deal.
We have a lot of players who could give a good performance one week then you don't know they're playing the next two.
Re: Dwight McNeil
I think given his impact the last couple of games it gives Moyes a bit of a headache. Neither him nor Ndaiye are fast and we need to add pace.
Ndaiye was poor alongside Beto and left us really short in midfield which allowed Ipswich to pass through us relatively easily.
So Ndaiye imo needs to be on the left, so if McNeil isn't on the right as we sign the much needed speed merchant we crave do we play him in the 10?
It wasn't a complete success there earlier in the season but I think largely because we needed him to do the Doucs pressing role and he can't, but could he play there in a better footballing team post summer under Moyes?

It's about having multiple options in the squad. We should add the pace in attack and let them push each other to start.AjaxAndy wrote: ↑Sat May 10, 2025 8:12 pm I think given his impact the last couple of games it gives Moyes a bit of a headache. Re: Dwight McNeil
He's one footed, but he's damn good with it.

Re: Dwight McNeil
I don't think it's that much of an issue... All his goals tend to be outside the penalty box and there's very few players scoring from that distance with their weaker foot.
Re: Dwight McNeil
No the issue is he literally can't do anything at all with his other foot so is a completely predictable uni directional player with limited ways you can use him.
Has put up good numbers for us tbh, hope over the next year or two he takes a step down to the champ where he would be a really really good player, a cult hero for someone I think. 10+ assists a year, 4-5 screamers.

Re: Dwight McNeil
He's a PL player imo. Really effective and I think he'll be very good for us under Moyes. Shouldn't forget with him that he's spent his career with Sean Dyche*, so we've not seen anything close to his ceiling.
