Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Further 2 points deducted.
So if we sell a 99% stake in all our assets to, let’s call them Blue Dell Loophole Ltd based in Panama, for £400m with £350m upfront.
The other £50m is due 6 months later which if they don’t pay, ownership reverts fully to Everton FC
Blue Dell Loophole Ltd then ceases trading so payment can’t be made, we get everything back, £350m and our FFP worries are no more
All legit and completey allowed by the PL

I know your point, bud. You and a couple of others have been consistent in reminding us that ‘he who is without sin..’ and all that. It doesn’t absolve the people running the Premier League from letting it become what it is.
I would also point out that this is not us as one bad apple spoiling the barrel. This is us in a rotten system, stooping to their level, because it is the only way to compete in a system like this. Not that the choice to do it wasn’t ours, but that the choices given to us were theirs and they still fucked us for doing it.
I agree with you about what we both want for our club, but the reality is we’re all in the mud wrestling with pigs. Saying that it would be nicer if we hadn’t got in doesn’t really help because that’s where the game is now - right in the shit.
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Further 2 points deducted.
Very much this, and that it's likely we're a bit shitty that we used to be in there, part of the big 5 EPL promoters, and now they're having a party without us, joined by a couple of former no-marks in our place.Toddacelli wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 7:18 am I would also point out that this is not us as one bad apple spoiling the barrel. What would stop a club selling an asset to a subsidiary for £500m, then the subsidiary selling it baxk to the club 6 months later for £1. As soon as they start getting cloae to their PSR limit, just repeat the process.
Morally,it stinks, but there's nothing in the rules to stop them.

I think it has to be fair market value. Apparently though Chelsea have sold the hotel but someone still retain the income from it. Which is where it becomes a farce74Blue wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 7:01 pm What would stop a club selling an asset to a subsidiary for £500m, then the subsidiary selling it baxk to the club 6 months later for £1. What's to stop a team building infrastructure to sell. Could Newcastle just build a load of houses or even other clubs stadiums to get round ffp
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Further 2 points deducted.
Chelsea have done the equivalent of us selling the stadium to these guys
They're an external company, but the stadium doesn't really leave our possession.

Nothing massively new, other than that they sold it to themselves.777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 7:24 pm I think it has to be fair market value. Apparently though Chelsea have sold the hotel but someone still retain the income from it. Which is where it becomes a farce

Abramovic used to buy a season ticket at Chelsea for £1m a season!
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Further 2 points deducted.
Haven't heard or seen of anything similar about us yet.
Will be interesting to know whether or not we ourselves have to raise before the 1st of July or not, if at all. You'd think there would be murmurings of it by now.

Villa apparently considering legal action against the premier league now too
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Further 2 points deducted.
Yeah but specifically in this case the premier league are the ones attempting to stop this practice, so to call corruption when it is stopped by the clubs, most likely including us, seems a bit mad?Toddacelli wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 7:18 am I know your point, bud. Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Further 2 points deducted.
Yep, yep, on the face of it 100%.
But let’s not forget that their attempts to ‘stop this practice’ included questionable and harsh sanctions on smaller, less lucrative clubs and nothing to larger clubs who bring more money into them.
So yeah, I’m sticking with corrupt.
I agree with you that our first job is to look at ourselves, but I’m not letting anyone else off the hook either.

Sorry, gecko option for the echo doesn't seem to be working anymore.
But a piece:

For those that can't be arsed opening the site, the tl:dr is
- Swiss Ramble (https://swissramble.substack.com/p/whic ... fitability) crunched some numbers and thinks we can lose around £61m this last year without breaching.
- They also believe we are "a little bit over that".
- Onana has a remaining book value of £20m. A sale of £50m would represent sufficient profit to avoid a points deduction.

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Further 2 points deducted.
Genuine question why can't we just sell something to ourselves like Chelsea did. Surely everyone should be balancing their books like that now
