End of Moshiri - Friedkin, APPROVAL AGREED
Re: End of Moshiri - Friedkin, IT'S HAPPENING!!
I’m keeping my expectations low - better for one’s MH. Roma are 12th and 4 points off the relegation zone.
People will blame post-Mourinho chaos, but they brought him in and gave him enough power to derail things.
And the PL is so much more competitive than Serie A. Massive job to establish us as a top 10 team, imo. Some real talent (on and off the pitch) and expensively assembled squads bobbing around mid table.

Thinking he is an excitable fool or whatever, naaaa a dangerous man. Best mates with a Russian oligarch, using Everton as a money laundering pot (probably) masses of shady deals and absolutely no clue about football or running a club.
He very nearly destroyed the club along with Kenwright.
A horrible, lying, cheating man.
He's obviously not a nice person but I think he tried to do what's best for everton. He was ultimately just a moron and everyone had their hands in his pockets. I think kenwright happily ruined the club to keep control.
Re: End of Moshiri - Friedkin, IT'S HAPPENING!!
The Friedkin Group could turn to Fabio Paratici as their first managerial appointment at Everton once their takeover is completed
according to La Repubblica, relayed by Tuttomercatoweb, who say Paratici may be in line for a job at Goodison Park and a return to England after his spell with Tottenham.
The newspaper explains that the Friedkins are currently in London dealing with the situation at Roma, where they are expected to appoint Claudio Ranieri as their new manager
The group have their headquarters in the city, and it has become the centre of their operation when it comes to the Italian side. Dan and Ryan Friedkin are listening to advice from a multitude of sources on various matters and one of those is Paratici.
He is a ‘much listened to voice’, with the former Tottenham director of football acting as an ‘external consultant’ at this moment in time.
He is only allowed ‘reduced duties’ for now as he’s still serving a 30-month ban imposed on him by the FIGC and FIFA, something which brought an end to his time at Tottenham in April 2023.
He’s been without an official role since then but has can work in a limited capacity until the ban ends in June 2025.
That’s seemingly seen him link up with the Friedkins, who have been taking advice from the former Tottenham man on how to deal with the growing crisis at Roma.
And according to Repubblica, there are those who ‘already see him as the first management addition to Everton’ when the group’s takeover is completed.

Just gonna judge them by their actions when they arrive here.

Didn't Ranieri announce his permanent retirement from management only recently?

They seem a bit scatter gun unfortunately, we could end up with anyone from Potter to Baines to Mourinho or Moyes... Possibly all 4 in one season.Audrey Horne wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 9:47 am I must admit, im not as over the moon as i initially was with this.![]()
We've got a unique opportunity in the summer to start again, but it's also a very tricky situation to navigate with the high turnover of players and no guarantee we'll get a good bid for Branthwaite given his fitness issues this season so far. Get it right and it'll create a platform to build something from, get it wrong and we'll continue to struggle.
I'm far less confident now then I was previously they'll get this right.

They were very popular with Roma fans up until this season.
I’m excited. I know people on here just want to get the fans down constantly but I’m looking forward to the new ground, and new owners.
Will be a ride whatever happens.
I’m wanting top ten within the first two years, then March onto Europe.

Re: End of Moshiri - Friedkin, IT'S HAPPENING!!
Something in their favour - expectations have almost never been lower with us after multiple relegation threatened seasons and some of the worst football you can imagine under Benitez, Allardyce, Lampard, at times under Dyche and even at times under Ancelotti.
So really any sort of period of relative stability, with a gradual, even gentle, improvement in league positions and style of football would be seen as a massive unmitigated success for the Friedkins.
The atmosphere around Roma is somewhat different. They're a big club with a febrile fanbase in the capital city, one of the most historic cities in the world, and they've never had any sort of sustained success in their history. And they kinda think it's their birthright, as Romans, despite never having done it, and having been in the shadow of the other Italian giants. They've always been seen as something of a basket case club with a basket case fanbase.
So the Roma brief for the Friedkins is wildly different and much tougher than the Everton one, generally, even with all the challenges we face.

Its not a case of looking for negatives, its more looking at the evidence thats presented, and then evaluating. Im not sure this 'lets see how they do here' approach was afforded to 777, and quiet rightly so, they were a car crash at pretty much everywhere they had been, buuuut, who knows they could've worked for us!
TFG hopefully will be really good, but there is more and more evidence suggesting they might not be what everyone first hoped, and thats the main difference. The initial perception of TFG was a million time more positive than 777, as at the time there weren't all these negatives coming out about their tenure at Roma, they appeared to be really professional and a well run unit, however, some people did see a number of red flags and a similarity to Moshiri, but overall it was positive appointment, but its gradually started to go down hill and now there are legitimate concerns about the way they conduct their business and the choices they have made at Roma. Its just reflecting whats coming out, not looking for it
