Part of the frustration is in the hope of the new stadium, new owners, a chance to reset and then we are looking at a squad with some old names that really should not be there. Giving Seamus a playing contract is a bit daft as well. He can’t seem to warm up at this point without injuring himself. I get it can’t all be done at once but Moyes is proving again that his default is to be risk averse. Why not bring in a younger lad with potential and spend the wages there. We have 3 other centre backs.

Not worth worrying about. He's backup, the manager trusts him for the role, he's a cheaper option than buying new... all make perfect sense when you think about how many new additions we need to bring in. I think it's a sensible if uninspiring decision.

And the biggest point is simply that, while there’s this back and forth over whether or not it does or doesn’t matter who is 4th choice CB and whether or not he will play much, the simple fact is even first choice CBs make mistakes at top sides. The idea that we could and should have got a 4th choice CB who will apparently make NO mistakes, is for the birds. You could get a guy who will deliver less mistakes, but they will cost a fee, and the “less mistakes” will be unknown.
Keane has a mistake in him, no doubt, and he frustrates me as much as anyone else, but he’s decent at 4th choice (at least as much as any one else we could have got), and keeping him doesn’t cost us a fee we need to spend elsewhere
It’s simple. Both things are true in that it’s not what anyone “wants”, but also it’s logical.
Been great in all of them, very quietly going about his business and looking our best defender at the moment.
Yes we know the wheels could come off at any moment, but he's looking good right now and I don't think anyone could complain about him resigning for this year at present.
I feel sorry for him, he's been really good again but you know that the slightest fuck up and there will be a massive pile on as usual, even if it doesn't lead to a goal. Plays like Tarks has these first couple of games and this thread would be on page 30.
