Patterson Future
Re: Patterson Future
Just a really poor signing. Haven't seen anything that suggests he could be any better than an U-21 player we can develop ourselves. Wasn't even Rangers first choice right back when we signed him for about £6m. Total waste of money punt.

Was fully on track and playing for his country at the senior level until 2022 when he signed for us and got injured.
Anyone who says he’s a waste of money is giving up too soon imo.

Re: Patterson Future
He's probably currently at a level for Celtic and Rangers , considering the state of them two. Definitely not Premier league level.....
Re: Patterson Future
Giving up to soon? We've had him since 2022 and he's done literally fuck all. Jib him and move onToddacelli wrote: ↑Mon Jan 05, 2026 10:28 pm International career

Re: Patterson Future
He’s had no games. And he’s had injuries - which might even be related. Give him a run and see what happens. What have we got to lose at this point?
Re: Patterson Future
I've always tried to stick up for him, Scottish bias, I'd like to see him do well here and for Scotland and as a club we've always had a strong Scottish connection. I think there's still time for him to become a decent player but I don't think it'll be here, he was unlucky when he first arrived, he picked up an ankle injury training with Scotland and needed surgery, I think the same injury gave him issues then next season and since then with form and other knocks etc he's been in and out the team and never been able to develop or play his way into form.
He isn't the only young player we've had in recent years who's been completely let down in their development due to all the other nonsense going on at the club, I think Branthwaite and Armstrong are the only two young, potential first team players who've had decent loans. But, he's been here four years now and even when fit the last couple of managers haven't fancied him, and maybe he's not doing enough in training to change their minds either, but as said before, when Moyes would rather bring a midfielder on and put Garner to RB while Patterson is on the bench then I think that tells you all we need to know about his future prospects here.

Re: Patterson Future
Correct. Let the right back be the right back. Only until we get a proper one, then loan him with an option to buy and we might get some actual money back on him.
Re: Patterson Future
Had a good game against Forest then not a sniff in the last two home games. Shit from Moyes, let's be honest.

Re: Patterson Future
He was banging average and thats with the bar st the floor.
He could have easily cost us a goal on about 4 different occasions and played a great ball across our 6 yard box at one point.
The instincts just arent there defensively. He gets caught under the ball and flat footed all the time, and just gets so many basic things wrong.

Re: Patterson Future
The fact we are arguing between patterson and o brien shows the absolute ineptitude of our recruitment. Its a fucking disgrace that we didnt sign a right back
