Everton v Crystal Palace
Re: Everton v Crystal Palace
I thought Barry was telling us he knew what was expected this season.
Not seen any extra effort or quality in the first 45.

He can’t be the most defensive player in your midfield but Hackney’s a baller.
Put Garner or Norgaard next to him and we’ll be rock solid but with some legit passing from deep.

He’s been fine in hold up and layoffs and has pressed better, other than getting the ball trapped under his feet there he’s not done much wrongBumble wrote:I thought Barry was telling us he knew what was expected this season.

Yeah feel like Armstrong would be a good sub for Hall, Hackney with someone solid next to him.

Malpractice that Tuchel didn’t bring Wharton to the World Cup.
He runs the show for them. They’re cooked if a big club makes an appropriate offer.
Glad we snagged Hackney before they could.

You can see why we bought Norgaard. We need some experience sat in front of the back 4 with Gana gone.

Re: Everton v Crystal Palace
Very wobbly half there from us. Very fortunate to be ahead.
We are defo missing a Garner/Norgaard figure in the 6. Having said that, we often struggle with this 3421 shape when it's played well, even with a 6 in there. Lots of people picking up little pockets of space, and somebody like Wharton to find them.
We need to look to where our overloads are (full back and winger v one wing back) to get more joy.

Forward we look good but they cut right through us when they have it. Have to look at taking off one of the three in the middle second half

Agree, but think we’re making him look better a bit with the time we’re giving him at times.

Very fortunate to be ahead. Look pretty good going fwd, even though (as usual) it's been hard to get Barry involved.
From 30-40yds out, Palace are getting through our midfield far too easily. Can't believe they haven't scored.
