Is it just me or do left footed players get way more stick for having a shit right foot than vice versa?

I never see anybody giving Coleman, Garner, Gueye, Doucoure, Beto, DCL etc stick for having an awful left foot

Coleman has a great left foot.

I think it's just in McNeil's case he looks so awkward with it, most players will still use their weaker foot to get a pass or shot in but McNeil will contort his whole body just to keep it on his left rather than use his right.

Feel that's the case for a lot of lefties though. They always seem to look awkward.

I think the the opposite, lefties can look very elegant, there's nothing sweeter than a Baines cross. I always wished I'd been a left handed cricketer, players like Gower looked so calm and relaxed playing the shots. But even compared to Mykolenko and Branthwaite McNeil looks very awkward.

To be fair, Branthwaite is pretty exceptionally two footed.

Baines was elegant but even he very rarely used his right foot and it didnt seem to be a big deal

Not a popular view, but if we could sell McNeil and get Elliot from the other side of the park - I’d be all in for that

No thank you on that.

Rumours heard on toffee TV that McNeil is maybe looking at a move away and unsure if he'll feature next year.

We have about 2 players so you'd have to be pretty sure of additions or pretty sure of the managers opinion of you to feel that way, but maybe?

Entirely depends on how much we'd get for him too as it would cost £30m+ to replace his role in our squad (ability level, output & age).

Personally I think he'll become a key player under Moyes as he works very hard, has incredible stamina, great set pieces and contributes a lot of goals/assists which we need more of in the team. Seems like he ticks all of Moyes' boxes tbh

He’s one of two wingers we have at the club currently so I’am calling nonsense on that rumour.

I think with Baines he was always on the left hand side, McNeil looks worse with his right when plays centrally or right wing, I’ve always said if McNeil plays it has to be on the left wing only to beat the full back and get crosses in.

No thank you. Harvey Elliott is nothing special and he's an absolute bellend to boot.

Arjen Robben only used his right foot for balance, even when he played on the right. It's perfectly manageable.

I think the thing is if you are really really really fucking good then yeah it doesn't matter.

I'm just saying it's the wrong thing to fixate on. If you can make it work, you can make it work, and on the flip side you can be perfectly two-footed and still shit.
