Because the manager doesn’t rate or trust him at cb despite what he’s shown. He rates Tark and Keane over him and will pick them both before he picks Jake imo.

Re: Everton v Crystal Palace
JOB will get his chance this season I’m sure, but I imagine he won’t get the nod straight away over Tarks and/or Branthwaite when fit.
He’s next in line though so doubt he’s going anywhere, Moyes loves to bed CBs in at fullback and fullbacks in as wingers.

I’ll be absolutely fucking raging if we see Branthwaite running doggies as a LB

Re: Everton v Crystal Palace
Think this is spot on. With beto after 60-70, and ndiaye to move over to the left and dibling to come on for george at a similar time.brap2 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 19, 2026 8:16 am Merlin won’t be cm. He might actually be RM.
Hackney and Armstrong cms but he’ll be looking to drop hackney when garners back and looking to drop Armstrong when norgaards fit.
Rohl will be fit into the side in RB, RM, 10, DM, CM (5 mins end of game) in order to get another athletic big boy in there. But he won’t nail down a position other than maybe RB.
Rohl Tark Jarrad Myko
Hackney Armstrong
Kdh
Ndiaye Barry George
Re: Everton v Crystal Palace
If the CEO is mentioning that he thinks Rohl will play right back for the national side in the future (bizarre statement) then I think it's fair to say we should see him there on Saturday.
If JOB starts there then this will be the manager asserting his authority and it can only end one way.

Re: Everton v Crystal Palace
Yea that would be an insane decision to play your prized 6'5 CB coming off muscle injuries as a LB so he can leg it up and down the line all match.
Re: Everton v Crystal Palace
Given our weakness at RB, hopefully Palace don't have a new left winger with a point to prove.
Re: Everton v Crystal Palace
Hoping at the very least he starts Rohl at RB, can't be Jake, it just can't be.
Re: Everton v Crystal Palace
I expect to see the same lineup that started against Lille, with maybe if anything George in for Dibling.
Re: Everton v Crystal Palace
---------------Pickford---------------
Rohl--Obrien--Branthwaite--Mykolenko
-----------Hackney--Armstrong------------
Ndiaye---------KDH-----------George
--------------------Barry-------------------
That's what I'm hoping for anyway.

Re: Everton v Crystal Palace
I'd be satisfied with that, even happier if Aznou starts in place of Mykolenko.
Re: Everton v Crystal Palace
I really hope we just keep Ndaiye on the left this season. We have Dibling and Johnson for the right, and it makes little sense relegating them to second and third choice as it limits thier game time.
2 players for the left wing / 2 players for the right = plenty of game time for everyone.
