Was asked to organise the works World Cup sweep. There’s 10 of us so everyone’s got 4 or 5 teams

Starts with excitement and optimism with everyone going ooh I hope I get Spain

Found an app that works it all out for you. Does them at total random you just enter the names of the people and then the teams get randomly assigned

Immediately everyone is moaning that they’ve got no chance cos they haven’t got France or Spain “might as well have just thrown a fiver down the drain”

Got a few shouts of me rigging the draw, even though I didn’t get France or Spain. I’ve literally just pressed a button and the draw has been done

Anyways I got Cape Verde, Panama, Sweden, Germany and Curacao

Have done prizes for winner, runner up and most goals conceded in the group stage so I may well have 3 decent chances at that boobie prize

Yeah, but if you're arranging the fix then you never fix it for yourself. You sort it out with someone else for them to win and you split the winnings.

Allegedly.

Looking forward to this tonight.

Mexico opening at the azteca with a 17 year old wonderkid in their ranks.

Come on.

The Fake Mexico shirt I ordered has arrived in time for the tournament

Gonna try and ignore the outside noise and enjoy the football

Italia 90 was probably what really got me into football I think. I remember my Mum and Dad really drilling the idea of it being a massive cultural event into my head in the build up, getting a wall chart and for the first time in my life noticing media build up via newspapers and tv coverage

I remember staying up late for that England v Germany semi final and crying my eyes out when we lost

My Mum got me the West Germany home top for that tournament, iconic kit. I’ve tried to get a shirt for each World Cup since. So this year it’s the turn of Mexico, for the bargain price of £13

I presume she went to an actual sports shop (Jack Sharps?) rather than dealing with a dodgy Thai website to buy that Germany shirt

If you could imagine a ‘hub’ where a ‘goat’ may buy a ‘jersey’, then you may find this mystical website

While I can’t be arsed about the competition itself.
I am looking forward to seeing some of the new talents (Wonderkids) on display. Gilberto Mora, Paz, Maza, Hlozek, Soucek (just kidding!), Dedic, at least somebody who can play RB, El Ouahdi, Bouaddi, Yildiz, Doue (the older one), Sano, Nakamoto, Ueda, Watanabe, Ayari, Nusa, Diao, Mbaye, Barco, Inacio and Alajbegovic.

Or even a type of gate that had the initials of Everton's stadium reversed on it.

Shouldn't Adam Richman be in a dive bar in Manhatten trying to eat a 10kg tomahawk steak in under 30 minutes or something?
