Exciting. We must be aiming for innovation in data analytics. Makes sense too.

The Athletic recently wrote that statsBomb is about to be purchased by Hudl (who own Wyscout amongst others) and there are concerns that big data analytics companies with hundreds of thousands of customers like these will be slow to move, and will struggle to keep up with the ever-evolving areas of focus in the stats performance industry.

Arsenal bought StatDNA 15 years ago to use internally, and it sounds like more of the larger clubs might now be looking to move away from licenses to the market leading providers, and instead purchasing>building>tailoring in-house, due to innovation concerns.

Small enough to be agile, but big enough (along with Roma) to be effective and hopefully provide us an edge.

Yes, John Textor and his Eagle group were interested in purchasing Everton, and he even went as far as trying to dispose of his shares in Crystal Palace in order to do so, as he would not have been able to own shares in more than one club in the PL.

We definitely dodged a bullet with Textor, never wanted him as he was too outspoken when he was trying to buy us.

We dodged a bullet with Textor, we also dodged a bullet with 777. We appear to have been extremely close to disaster and looks like we got away with it.

Nothing to back it up but I get the sense we were stringing 777 along for the cash knowing they were never going to be permitted to buy the club

Textor had his uses. Intentionally or not he flushed out interested parties.

I started a career on FM with Lyon.

Some of their dealings are mental.

Seems like he’s signed a load of players from his Brazilian team and inserted 100% sell on clauses in the deals for them.

In the next couple of years I think Textor, Blueco, Clearlake, Forest, Lyon - will be a big dodgy money case involving the lot of them and probably we were close to being involved.

What's the plan in the event both Roma and us qualify for the same European competition?

I want it to happen and for it to be allowed for one big reason. Not because it means we're in Europe, but because it will cause that blurt who owns Forest to blow a gasket

Whatever happens, I'd like to think they've planned for this happening.

Has the Palace incident been confirmed yet? Haven't checked. Is it official they won't be playing in Europe next season?

They'd missed a deadline for him to sell his stake.

Forest being the snide Tory grasses that they are wrote a letter or complaint to UEFA about there being any possibility of Palace playing in Europe. That was the last I heard of the situation

City and Girona found a way around the rules, I'd saybits doable. Quick Google (ChatGPT) and theres some nonesense about a blind trust etc
