You cant just bin off 2 of our guaranteed starters and think it will be sound we will replace them.
He shouldn't be a "guaranteed starter" and he's already making "star player" (for Everton) wages. Makes no sense to keep him, nobody re-ups for 50% off their current wages.

Plus, I didn't say both. I'd keep Gana another season. But if he demands 2+ seasons at his current wages? I'd let him walk, too.

People overrate the importance of "returning" players. If the new signings are on sensible wages (most) and signed for 4-5 years, then it's better financially even with the transfer fees.

When old/declining players are on high wages, you let them walk. Otherwise, you just throw more good money after bad, even if there's no "fee."

Next season, we'll be having this conversation about Tarks.

Tarks is in great shape. I think he’ll be one of those that stays in the prem until late 30s

I don't think we will and if we did I don't think we will sign.
As far as I've heard it's an either or for the club when it came to Doucoure and Gana contracts. Fully expect Gana to be offered a new deal.
Plus I'm pretty certain AD will be off to live in Dubai and take it easier in the Saudi league next season and see out his career there.

Objectively bad footballer. Thanks for some big goals, good luck for the future away from Everton.

Yeah. He's an absolute ghost at the moment.

I'd say he's causing more issues than he is solving them at the moment.

Praying he never starts another match for us.

Really hoping a Saudi club come in for him and offer him wages we can’t compete with.

Appreciate all he has done but he isn’t good enough for our ambitions.

Shame he isn’t a DM. Would be an absolute unit to have next to Gueye if he could pick a pass.

Can they offer us somewhere between what they offered for say, Henderson and Salah?

He's been of our best players for years, it isn't pretty but it's still factual. It's time for him to be phased out but I think we'll miss him

🚨Abdoulaye Doucoure will leave Everton at the end of the season upon the expiry of his Everton contract

Teams in the Premier League as well as teams in the Middle East have an interest in Doucoure

That should be it then. Start planning for next year and give the minutes to players who'll be here and leave him on the bench.

Hopefully so.

No ill feeling towards him at all. He's been fantastic for us, but his time is clearly up.

Anyone clock his celebration there?

Scribbling on his hand as if signing a contract and then pointing to his head saying "why not"?

Hinting at a new deal? 😬
