We’re starting to run out of those ‘easier games on paper.’ It’s about to get real soon with a manager who doesn’t look to have too many different ideas on how to get the best out of this squad

Can't be right that. He'll probably go with Jimmy Garner there for the Palace match
Wouldn't doubt it, but I hope we give Dibling a chance to play with Grealish and NDiaye and see if it works at all.

That's probably pretty unlikely though.

Both strikers are not really getting great service from that 10 position and it's not helping either of them.

It's extremely cliche, but there are no gimmes this year in the PL it feels like. Far more so than last few seasons. I don't even think Burnley and Wolves are that bad, the latter could've easily picked up a win vs Spurs the other day. Going to be a really cramped table I think with a lot of teams worrying about their position this season.

Its all about margins isnt it? We were dominating them and they wanted us to dominate them - but we didnt have the goal in us which probably gonna be our main challenge this season.

We were close to the second goal just minutes before they scored and that would have ended the match. We probably are a team around 10-14th this year and if we are - it will be a lot of matches like this. Its still ok. We´re fine and we wont be more than that before some kind of a striker decides to become good or we sign a decent one.

We need a striker for sure. Jesus on loan. (Cue puns).

If we are picking up 2 pts from Villa and West Ham at home, with the way they have both started the season, then it is going to be a difficult campaign.

Get a proper cm in or play someone good in the ten.

Someone has to miss out here, and I want Grealish and Ndiaye on the pitch and performing well. At the moment Ndiaye is completely out the game and Grealish is playing solo footy out on the left.

Time for a change.

Toddacelli wrote: Mon Sep 29, 2025 9:06 pm So we all saw a few of our players have stinkers in the same match. A bad recipe when you’re a lower table side to begin with - but can we talk about the attitude?
Against Wolves they were clearly there to be had. Looked beat, tails between their legs, everything.
Then today we had periods again where we should have pressed but didn’t, should have competed but didn’t, and a few players looked off it by miles.

I don’t know why we aren’t more aggressive in games. I don’t know why we don’t bully teams when they look on their arse. Unless we can develop a nasty streak sometime very soon, these games that should be put to bed are just going to keep getting away from us.
You know what? it does my head in, the lack of a killer instinct in this team.
A goal up inside 20 mins and well on top, just what we wanted, go on and ram the advantage home, everyone knows a second goal kills the game off,
Desire, drive and hunger, you can't coach that, it comes from within.
That's what winners do , when the opposition is on the floor they put their boot on the throat and don't let up.
I know it's no help having a pair of useless lumps up front that are contributing the square root of fuck all, as well as full backs that do the same as an attacking force.
When we didn't score after that spell at the start of the 2nd half, you just absolutely knew what was coming.
And when it did you absolutely knew we wouldn't score again and by the end we would be happy to hear the final whistle, it's so fucking predictable.
Yes the lack of a decent striker and an actual right back is holding us back, but so is the lack of a killer instinct when we have sides on the floor

Another terrible ref.

KDH suspended now for taking a free kick quickly and winning the ball in a tackle.

You're right, we need to look for the silver linings where possible.

I think the table this early makes form look more of a trend that it possibly is. Villa finished just outside CL places and are still a good team with a great manager, West Ham have a capable enough squad but the management was lacking. Villa will probably be back in the top half before long and West Ham probably crawl up the table over time as they've got players like Bowen who can get them points and now a more pragmatic manager. They've also come off the back of playing Palace who are on a great run, Spurs doing well under Frank, Chelsea and Sunderland (away and in form)...so they're position looks a bit worse than maybe it should.

Still, yes, you'd want more points from this fixture no doubt. And yeah, until we get a better balance in the team likely most weeks we won't be blowing anyone away. I think a lot of teams around us have some similar issues though so we likely won't be the only ones. Think it's going to be a big mush of teams sat closely on similar points.

Yup, he stunk tonight, given a real chasing.
I'm sick of talking about this, but the fact that we didn't buy a proper right back for the umpteenth window running was a disgrace.
And now O'brien has been sussed and will be a target for every team with a pacey left winger.
And i still don't trust them to sort it out in January

The positive I suppose is that Brap thinks we're absolutely awful and the worst team in the league and we're 9th.
