Have to put one on the Park End for mine.

I had my first “you have been unsuccessful” emails for the ballot for Sunderland.

I’ve had a good run so can’t really complain, picked different locations than normal so probably my own fault for messing with a successful combination.

Booked my tickets with hotel last year for the Sunderland game and thought I'd do a stadium tour the next day. I've checked the dates all year and today I find there's no tours the next four days after the game! Bloody typical.

Yeah me too, I've been all around the stadium to check it out but for last game of the season I probably should have been content for some seats in the heavens in some corner! A shame , but I have tickets for the city game and generally loved getting back into regularly attending games this year. Its reignited the love!

Yep, same. Although I’ve never tried lower tier before the Sunderland fixture, probably a bad game to have changed it. City will be my last game. Some seat in the heavens in the corner has been my bread and butter this season tho.

I was successful in the Sunderland ballot - has the date for the fixture been confirmed yet?

Surely not every prem game on the Sunday is gonna be 3pm is it?

I’m probably in the opposite mindset to everyone else where I don’t want it to be moved to the sat as I’m working that day and won’t be able to go if it’s moved to Sat

Presuming they won’t have any premier league games clashing with the FA Cup Final which is the sat though

Given neither of us are likely to be playing for anything then we might be safe from Monday night for the Sunderland match. At the moment the Monday can't be:

Bournemouth v City (Man City are playing FA Cup)
Either: Leeds v Brighton or Chelsea v Tottenham (One will be in the FA Cup final)
Either: Man United v Nottingham Forest or Aston Villa v Liverpool (Europa League final is the following Wednesday)

I assume they'll play it safe with the Europa and won't put either of those matches provisionally on the Monday night. So we've got one of:

Brentford v Palace
Newcastle v West Ham
Arsenal v Burnley
Wolves v Fulham
Everton v Sunderland
Leeds v Brighton or Chelsea v Tottenham

Newcastle v West Ham would be my guess.

Chelsea v Tottenham is first choice of it's available is my bet.
Have Burnley been on enough (there's a minimum amount of games that are guaranteed), Arsenal potentially winning/losing the league is a decent option as well

Chelsea v Spurs can't happen now since they're in the FA Cup final, so you might be right about Burnley/Arsenal

Sorry, your first post suggested it was an either or situation with that game and the Leeds/Brighton game.
Might have misunderstood

Can remember going to the Roma match in pre-season and being in awe of the stadium. The first home match against Brighton with the atmosphere and the pre-match scenes will live with me for a long time and capped off with Ndiaye scoring the first goal at our new home. Even though the results haven't always been there, I've been a massive fan of the stadium and I haven't really missed Goodison much which says a lot about just how good it is. Just the sheer size of it and moments like Grealish's winner against Palace early on just went to show how loud and mad it can get. The winter months were difficult and the likes of Newcastle, Wolves, Brentford and Leeds were all not the most enjoyable matches as it never is when you're freezing and don't win! I am lucky to have been to every match at home this season and will cap that off with Sunderland at the weekend. I don't think any of our poor home results have been down to the stadium though and have really just been a continuation of our last seasons at Goodison. In more recent times with the derby goal(s), the win over Chelsea and the draw against Man City then we've seen the potential that this place has and how fortunate we've been, given the likes of West Ham, that we have a stadium designed to be something magnificent.

The football on the pitch, the lack of Saturday 3pms and eternity of night matches have made the season less enjoyable than I'd have liked at home but whatever the issues with the stadium in terms of transport, food prices, interior design and anything else which are all valid criticisms, I do think it's a pretty phenomenal place and wouldn't swap it with any stadium in the league.

Here's to ending on a high and hoping we bring some performances and results more fitting to the surroundings next season!

great! .......and the overwhelming feeling of pride and love of supporting the blues when you see your granite paving stone with your name and family name on it in the front of the south stand - will live with me forever
a moment to cherish :bigwink:
