Re: Everton v Spurs
Everyone said we needed a better striker, better fullbacks, a pacy winger, something more progressive in midfield.... we got none of that. Beyond the level of players we did sign we still signed the wrong types of players often for the wrong positions.
Think we are at a point now where if we lose a game before we win 1 our season will be turning into a really quite poor 1

Bit of a one trick pony at the moment is Jacky boy. Needs to mix it up a bit. Taking too long on the ball and then squaring it to nobody.
Looked ace at the start of the season but not doing too much now.
Trying to feed Beto/Barry isn't helping.

What does Richarlison look like in this team, think he improves us as a 9 or another headless chicken (pigeon)?

Had 4 players within about 5 yards of him at 1 stage tonight... where the fuck our 3 free players were hiding god only knows.Blues Mahoney wrote: ↑Sun Oct 26, 2025 7:38 pm Bit of a one trick pony at the moment is Jacky boy. It doesn't work because teams can double or even treble up on him and it doesn't appear to benefit anyone else in our team
Id pass on grealish if its a decent fee and ridiculous wages. We can't be spending 30m and paying him 200k a week. Oddly we still need pace. Maybe next window

Re: Everton v Spurs
It’s all fun and games until we realise we need an entire new back four next season.
Re: Everton v Spurs
We had a decent game plan for getting Grealish in the game, Myko pushed up really high to stop Porro being able to closely mark Jack, and then Jack would occasionally drop deep opening up huge space down the channel for Beto.
Issue is once they scored it stopped is being able to do it because they could sit deep and those spaces disappeared.
The gameplan was good until they scored.

Usual no plan B from Moyes.AjaxAndy wrote: ↑Sun Oct 26, 2025 7:49 pm We had a decent game plan for getting Grealish in the game, Myko pushed up really high to stop Porro being able to closely mark Jack, and then Jack would occasionally drop deep opening up huge space down the channel for Beto.

Re: Everton v Spurs
Moyes out shouts are a joke. Some of the names thrown around wouldn't come to us, as we are now. We're a work in progress, and will be for a while yet. We're currently 14th in the league, which is about right.
Re: Everton v Spurs
You are frustrated, I am too, and I completely agree we should have had a right back in in the last 5 seasons, but I'd play Garner there too considering we've more options in midfield now. That would work fine.777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Sun Oct 26, 2025 7:07 pm Don't agree. We are stuck with them so we have to give them more time but having a team that can't field a right back isn't something you just give them more time to fix. Its inexcusable
Our first defeat at home that leaves us 1 point above burnley. We've been largely crap and the transfer wins your talking about are players who we don't know because we didnt need them so they don't play
It is what is it. We are writing another season off now. On top of the last 10.
You do remember how we lined up last season? Our second best player this season is our much maligned 4th choice centre back that near everybody ridiculed. Some things are going right. We are moving in a positive direction. We have two amazing wide players, two of the best in the league....
Not the full story but Burnley have spent 120m more on their squad than we have. The Hammers the best part of 400m. ManU have spunked near to a billion and still aren't in a European spot despite their first back to back wins under their 'new' manager. Newcastle have spent 500m more than us and are a solitary point ahead of us.
I'd still rather be in our position wouldn't you?
We're not writing anything off. In fact we're starting to re-add asset value back into a business that had been almost completely asset stripped over the past half decade.
Young up and coming players in the main, green shoots, good players will start to want to sign for us again too. But yes we didn't have a flawless transfer window, so all doom and gloom?

Re: Everton v Spurs
Way too predictable in our approach. Grealish is too static and doesn't shoot enough, our team bottle responsibility, which is why Alcaraz should play as he's more direct, shoots and gets the best out of Beto more than anyone else. Moyes needs to switch it up because it isn't working right now. Beto is not a target, hold up striker and never will be. Barry is better technically but not hard working enough. Utter shit tonight
Re: Everton v Spurs
Exactly what I saw behind goal North stand, said to my neighbour that’s exactly what Grealish was thinking.AjaxAndy wrote: ↑Sun Oct 26, 2025 7:33 pm Could see him look at the sky in frustration when we broke and he passed it on to Beto's feet and made a run beyond him... By the time Beto had taken 6 touches to get a simple ball under control and passed it back to a CM on the halfway line Jack was looking at the heavens in disbelief and frustration.

Re: Everton v Spurs
Horrible from start to finish. Beto missing a sitter after 2 mins, grealish shot cleared off the line. Beto looking like he's won a competition to play. Moyes dog shit tactics that don't work. Myko not running past grealish to help out on the wing. Garner passing every fucking ball sideways or back. Running round like a faux hard man but shitting out of every 50/50. None of them shooting when in decent position even though it's pissing down so the ball could go anywhere.
And speaking of the rain, fucking torrential. Freezing to my bones sat there watching that shite.
Then sat for 90 mins trying to leave the fucking car park afterwards. With the shite 90s crap music blaring from the 'fan zone'.
Horrible horrible evening.

Re: Everton v Spurs
3-0 massively flatters them but it’s not a great sign that you don’t even need to play that well to beat us 3-0.
Worry about us defensively. West Ham conceded 75 goals in moyes last season.

Re: Everton v Spurs
Walked past it at about 6.45, absolute shit show, am rapidly falling out of love with BMD, have tried every possible means of getting there and back in a reasonable manner and time, drove up today as I had booked a room at a guest house in Bootle, thought it might be easier to get an Uber in that direction from maybe Stanley rd. no way. For day trips from Euston the train stops at Liverpool Parkway ((John Lennon Airport) and can jump on a train to Sandhills but doesn’t ever stop there on the return journey. ££6.95 for a pint of San Miguel, £7 for a fucking sausage roll, £12 for three tiny bits of salt and pepper chicken that had been sitting on a bed of #oggy chips under a heat lamp for an hour, Aramark need to get their shit together !
Ques for the loos at half time no better than the primitive facilities in upper Gwladys, £800 million stadium and you still have to eat your food off a bin lid on the concourse, see how empty the seats are after half time break as people still queuing for loos/food, hope it’s better in other parts of the stadium but serious doubts about renewing next year, the whole thing is a ball breaker.
