Re: January Transfer Window
Came through the arsenal youth academy his numbers are poor played in Scotland for st mirren Belgium and championship would be a no from me
Re: January Transfer Window
Just been reading through a Blackburn forum and the consensus is that he has been thier best player in a poor season and the only successful summer signing. A lot seem to think he will go in January as far back as September:
https://www.brfcs.com/forums/topic/38153-ryan-alebiosu/
"Replacing Brittain was going to be a tough gig but he has slotted in effortlessly at right back.
Looks solid in defence and our best attacker when we have possession. Some great dribbling and crosses tonight."
"I like him. Decent defensively and likes to attack and put in dangerous crosses. Works hard, doesn't shirk tackles or commitments."
"In our last two matches he has looked like the only player in our team capable of playing in this division."
"He’s been a very good signing and fits the bill of a modern full back. Very athletic with the pace to beat his man and deliver a ball into the box. Only ray of sunshine from the summer signings"
On his AFCON call up for Nigeria:
"Alebiosu would be a huge loss, he's one of the only players in the team besides Cantwell who genuinely makes things happen. I think he'd have a few more assists at the moment if he had a half-decent attacking lineup to work with."
Sounds good, could be a snip at £4m? Could be a dud? 24 yo, 6' 2". But not loads of games under his belt.

Re: January Transfer Window
Has the air of a Moyes scouting. The Championship diamond in the rough player.
Could believe this sort of rumour.

Re: January Transfer Window
What are we ready for, just being a middling side who are bobbing along in mid table, maybe a QF in a cup and loads of moaning about big decisions not going our way against the big clubs? Should we just aim to not get relegated while building a young side that might never realise it's potential?
We should aim to win as many games of football as we can and then deal with whatever comes with it.
Re: January Transfer Window
That's my take on it as well. What's the point in playing if you don't want to be successful, if we qualify and have a less successful season the year after so be it. I can also take my lads to Europe to watch us
Re: January Transfer Window
Europe isn’t like it was back in the day.
It’s easier to qualify for and a lot easier to play in for the English clubs.
We also have a manager who has a good record in the Europa and conference league.
The club is set up for Europe. The owners and moyes will want to get there asap.
Doesn’t mean we have to take risks this window to chase it, but once we’re there we should be putting the expectation on the board and manager to prepare us properly.

Re: January Transfer Window
There are more options than “Europe now” or “pointless mediocrity”, and no one’s arguing for the latter.Bumble wrote: ↑Fri Jan 02, 2026 2:19 pm What are we ready for, just being a middling side who are bobbing along in mid table, maybe a QF in a cup and loads of moaning about big decisions not going our way against the big clubs? The alternative is building properly on the foundations Moyes is laying, investing smarter, cutting the remaining dead weight, and not derailing progress with an extra 8–17 games (I have no idea how many is realistic at the stage we'd enter or what the format is these days), and all the knock-on fatigue that comes with it.

Re: January Transfer Window
I'd say the same but I just know there wouldn't be a 'so be it' attitude from many if it backfires.
They'd be calling for change and bemoaning the club for not 'investing properly', when in reality we still don't have a complete first 11, never mind a functional squad with rotation options.
Also, everyone wants to be successful, the question is the path to success. I don't think it's unreasonable to be worried about trying to move to quickly after the shitshow we've been through over the last 6-7 years.
Re: January Transfer Window
If we qualify and don’t invest properly, then, yeah, people will bemoan the club just like we did this summer.UnsyisaRhino wrote: ↑Fri Jan 02, 2026 3:07 pm I'd say the same but I just know there wouldn't be a 'so be it' attitude from many if it backfires.

Time to put expectations back onto the people running things.
Getting into Europe would make things a lot easier to continue to build. We’d had more income and be more attractive to players.
For us to have a squad next season that can compete in Europe and be competitive in the league we don’t have to make a bucketload of signings for big money.
We have a board that have won a European trophy and a manager that has won a European trophy. What’s there to be scared about?

Re: January Transfer Window
Europe would be great for developing the likes of aznou Armstrong and Graham plus the rest obviously there will have to be investment but considering where we have been the last few seasons can’t believe some wouldn’t want it
Re: January Transfer Window
I just can't say no to Europe personally.
