Everton v Peterborough
Re: Everton v Peterborough
Armstrong best player today. Lots of nice one twos and a very good assist.
Re: Everton v Peterborough
Not overly convincing but job done in the hat for the next round

Re: Everton v Peterborough
More than enough quality in this side to stay up, add two or three signings this month are we'll be fine.
Re: Everton v Peterborough
An ok performance. Nice to see the full backs being fullbacks although admittedly in a 352 it's easier. Thought O Brien did himself no harm today.
Re: Everton v Peterborough
Not the best game but least we won. Positives in O’Brien & Patterson getting games for a change & especially Harrison Armstrong. Thought Beto did ok as well, well taken goal. Whatever he lacks he does look a threat and we’re going to need him unless we get a couple in
Re: Everton v Peterborough
Not a great performance but never looked in danger of losing. Bit of a mental day, so considering that Baines & Coleman only had a few hours to tweak things and the players were trying to do some stuff that they've not been instructed for a couple of years then entry into the 4th round with an open play goal and one to round it off is a decent outcome.
Looking forward to seeing this squad trying to play football again. UTFT!

Well in you fuckers, first open play goal in how many games?
Anyway, Freidkin Group, get your cheque book out for some players.
Sounds like Moyes is the one if that commentary was to be believed. They might know something we don't.

Re: Everton v Peterborough
I'm pretty happy with the performance tbh. Couldn't expect miracles with no real time with the players, but there were really clear signs that the players had seen some shackles lifted. There was attacking intent, there were multiple forward runners, and there was pressing high up the pitch - especially in the 1st half.
Of course some of it was shaky and of course it was only Peterborough. But to me it seemed clear that the players had been given instructions to be progressive and to take chances and that it immediately made a difference. Imagine when they actually get to spend some time working on that sort of setup and tactics that you'll see more improvements.

Re: Everton v Peterborough
FA Cup games are rarely easy for us even against lower league teams. However, overall I thought it highlighted how painfully in need we are of some quality additions and was a reminder that Dyche going has to be only step one. Key areas of the team have been under invested in for seasons now and it needs to be addressed this window to the degree we can, so for me I can't agree that we have in any way more than enough quality. Especially with Broja seemingly done now. DCL sidelined and Beto with question marks over whether he's moving or otherwise can play to the level needed in the PL.Indiantoffee75 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 9:50 pm More than enough quality in this side to stay up, add two or three signings this month are we'll be fine.
There were some positives in the game with one or two of the players, but eesh the lack of cutting edge in this side (not just strikers but to create chances for the strikers) I thought was very apparent even against a struggling team a couple of divisions below us.

Gutted about Broja, he can play. Assume the loan will be cancelled now and we can use it up.
Moyes loves a loan, and unlike our recent flops in the loan market he usually finds a gem.
