Dibling to George seems like such a drop off, but as you say maybe both are WIP to some extent.blueToffee wrote: ↑Mon Aug 11, 2025 9:20 pm Think we've gone that far down the list that George and the other players we're looking at are all going to be works in progress. None are really Premier League proven. We'd be buying with the hope they'd improve over time with coaching and more experience.

Re: The Rebuild
Well it probably is, although stats wise he probably did better played 8 games and had 1 goal and 1 assist. The trade off is probably the price is likely more reasonable.
We'll see, there doesn't seem to be anything really concrete about us making an offer for any of these newly linked players. Maybe we even go back to the likes of Kubo if nobody else comes in for him. Who knows, still a couple of weeks left of this. Hopefully something solidifies soon though on one of these targets.
Re: The Rebuild
I’m guessing we line up
Pickford
O’Brien
Tarkowski
Keane
Branthwaite
Gana
Garner
Dewsbury-Hall
Ndiaye
Barry
Grealish
For now, until Myko is back. It’s a bit ugly but probably what Moyes will see as most functional until we add more players.

Re: The Rebuild
Lots of set piece potential with Grealish and Ndiaye winning fouls and a colossal defense that any opposing team will struggle to mark.

There's a bit of me that thinks he will try McNeil at full back or wing back

Re: The Rebuild
Think he means KDH Gana in CM and 3 of Grealish, NDiaye, Alcaraz or McNeil behind the striker.
Re: The Rebuild
This account is jarg, but it's a new name for the list that hasn't been mentioned elsewhere
Re: The Rebuild
I mean, that’s the right sort of profile for what we need in the middle. Someone who sits at the base, defends well, and can pass the ball a bit.
Not enthused by the idea of spending a big fee on a player from one of the best teams in a lopsided league though. He could be good but it’s a big adaptation that carries a lot of downside risk.
Edit: Wow, mediocre age profile too. Can’t be spending any fee of note on a 26 year old who really only has one season in a top league to his name (played one season in Serie A for Lecce).
I like this one if it’s £10m or less, not anything close to what that link has quoted.

Re: The Rebuild
You're mad if you think a captain of one of a leagues top teams, 26 year old (which is not old.....) would be 10mil or less.kramer wrote: ↑Tue Aug 12, 2025 7:05 am I mean, that’s the right sort of profile for what we need in the middle.
