The Rebuild
Re: The Rebuild
More than happy if we have three or four on loan / we should do, it makes sense! Spread the money out a bit (although I appreciate there are loan fees) and spend big on certain areas
I’m more than happy with what we have done so far, and the links to the players in positions we need. If Tete had come off we’d all be ecstatic at the window!

Re: The Rebuild
Signing a for quality - loans for squad depth.
Absolutely nothing wrong with multiple loans if they're mainly just giving us options off the bench or for rotation.
Obviously excluding Grealish in this who has absolutely been brought in to vastly improve our quality.

Re: The Rebuild
That's a low release clause that they put in his contract as the only way to get him to extend - on the "open market" he'd be going for £80m+ I think777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Tue Aug 12, 2025 8:56 pm Saw something that said eze for 60m to spurs. That deal makes dibling at 45 plus 25% look absolutely outlandish

Re: The Rebuild
Pinch of salt based on the source
Everton have submitted a £37M bid for Roma Striker, Artem Dovbyk. He is keen on a move to England.

Re: The Rebuild
For 37m, that's a very favourable deal for Roma. Are we the poor cousin?
Not being critical of your post Brownie, to be clear.

Re: The Rebuild
It's things like this that make me certain that football rumours are just entirely made up until it's from a credible journalist - we have no RW, no RB and two ST already, there's no way we're blowing 37m on a striker.
Being generous, at absolute best we might go for a Beto + cash deal if Moyes doesn't fancy Beto and Roma want a striker who has already performed in Serie A
Re: The Rebuild
I know you’re not - I never post any of this with anything other than a small % of believe in them
Re: The Rebuild
Yeah, there’s swap potential if Moyes isn’t interested in Beto. Gasperini has gotten a tune out of Duvan Zapata, who was also a handful physically but a bit rough technically.StirlingBlue wrote: ↑Wed Aug 13, 2025 9:48 am It's things like this that make me certain that football rumours are just entirely made up until it's from a credible journalist - we have no RW, no RB and two ST already, there's no way we're blowing 37m on a striker.

Re: The Rebuild
Would like to see some proper interest in Maitland-Niles.
Seems to play his best as right back, can serve as midfield depth too, cold as fuck from the penalty spot as well (we might actually win some with the attacking players we’re assembling).

Re: The Rebuild
Multi club ownerships almost always favour one club...and right now, Roma are probably it.
Given the links to strikers we've seen percolating in the background, I'd not totally totally rule this one out. Add in a bit of PSR/FFP shenanigans too ala the Dobbin deal if we send someone their way...who knows. He's also been linked with some other PL teams like Leeds so could also be a not very subtle way of trying to boost the price.
Will have to see if anyone else beyond Football insider mention it.
Re: The Rebuild
Dovbyk?
Looks good in attack in Serie A last season and outstanding two seasons ago in La Liga.
Not much else to speak of. Consistently rates highly in penalty area touches but who knows how easily that translates from system to system.
Meh out of possession. Doesn’t look like a player who Moyes would want to set the press although neither does Barry, really.
