Relegation Battle
Re: Relegation Battle
City game going entirely as planned
Nice, very nice
Our goal difference is an extra point at this rate too

Re: Relegation Battle
Not sure Dyche would have pressed for that 3rd goal and we've seen lots this season what happens when teams start to chip away at any lead we have.
Although, to be fair, another 5 minutes at the end there and I'm not confident we'd be as content as we are now.

Re: Relegation Battle
6-0 at home to anyone is shocking. I know City have lots of quality but it’s been very poor from Ipswich defensively.
Re: Relegation Battle
Mathematically we are 4 points ahead, but with the current goal difference it might as well be 5. I think we are good.

Re: Relegation Battle
Next 5 games - if we can grab a couple of wins out of Brighton, Leicester and Palace, maybe nick a draw from one of them and one of either Liverpool or Man U then I think we’re flying.
Brighton and Leicester next are great chances to build confidence and momentum. Two teams who could beat us on their day, but two teams we have to be targeting 3 points from.

Re: Relegation Battle
Think this run of 4 matches until mid February is our chance to get some distance between us and the bottom 3/4. Leicester and Ipswich have a tougher run and with a bit of a bounce from a new manager and very winnable matches we could put ourselves in a position to be nearly safe in a very short period of time.
Might not happen like that but would be nice to put 6 or more points up in that time and likely end up a good 8 or so away from the bottom 3.

Re: Relegation Battle
Depends which Brighton turns up, they're perfectly capable of going to Old Trafford and getting a result but also perfectly capable of getting pumped at home by Palace. Beat them and it starts building a nice bit of confidence and momentum.
Re: Relegation Battle
Big weekend for us that when you look at all the upcoming fixtures. Pick up 4 points from the next 3 and we're probably 7 or 8 points clear of whoever will be 18th.

All difficult and we have the 'bonus' Liverpool fixture to bring us all up to the same amount of games.
Will have to see how Ipswich get on tonight but otherwise I don't expect to be in the relegation zone unless we get <2 points from those 4 matches. Beat Leicester and I think there could be 3/4 points between us and 18th. Always tough to predict though.
16th Everton 17 points (now 20)
Spurs H Won 3-2
Brighton A
Leicester H
Liverpool H
17th Ipswich 16 points
Brighton H Lost 0-2
Man City H Lost 0-6
Liverpool A
Southampton H
18th Wolves 16 points
Chelsea A Lost 1-3
Arsenal H
Aston Villa H
19th Leicester 14 points
Fulham H Lost 0-2
Spurs A
Everton A
Re: Relegation Battle
In relegation terms, we are in a good position. 4 points over 18th with a game in hand and better GD. Can’t let that go to waste and need to push on and clear ourselves of any relegation battle.
Would be great to get to the final few games at Goodison and not worry about a threat of relegation. That has to be the aim. Leave it to that bottom 4 to slug it out and catch the pack above us.
