Abdoulaye Doucoure
Re: Abdoulaye Doucoure
I think he is vital, unfortunately. Terrible first touch, awful five yard passing, can’t control a football, breaks down every attack but we look so porous in midfield without him. Palace away was like a basketball match that could have gone either way.
Hopefully we find a way to be compact in the middle of the park and with footballers who can control a football.

We sparked into life as soon as he went off.Juanito wrote: ↑Sat May 10, 2025 9:46 am I think he is vital, unfortunately. Re: Abdoulaye Doucoure
That front 4 of Ndiaye, Alcaraz, McNeil and Beto leaves no room for Douc. They are just better players. And that’s before we dip into the transfer market for reinforcements.
The great thing about Ndiaye, Alcaraz and McNeil is how interchangeable they are across the front positions. All of them can play either wide left, wide right or through the middle. The same can’t be said for Douc.

Re: Abdoulaye Doucoure
$77k a week. What's that? £58k according to Google.
That kind of money equates to a 50% tax rate if he's fully honest and not putting anything into schemes to reduce his gross.
So £116k a week equivalent.
Pretty much what he's on now?

Re: Abdoulaye Doucoure
Living in Saudi Arabia and earning that money to play football would be incredibly appealing to him being a Muslim so it’s definitely better than taking a pay cut to take what would probably be a one year deal here.
Just good to see we’ve been sensible on this one.

Re: Abdoulaye Doucoure
but maybe better than we or anyone else in the prem will offer him now, realistically nobody was going to offer him the type of contract we put him on.
Keane and holgate will be in the same situation.

Re: Abdoulaye Doucoure
Think Holgate is going to really struggle. He's on 70k a week. Not sure his next contract will be more than 10.UnsyisaRhino wrote: ↑Tue May 13, 2025 6:12 pm but maybe better than we or anyone else in the prem will offer him now, realistically nobody was going to offer him the type of contract we put him on.

Just happy the club seem to be acting sensibly here as all signs point towards them not offering him a new deal.
