Boredom.
Sweet blessed, not worried about relegation or financial mismanagement, Boredom.
Traditional slow Everton start of losing at home while we bed in the new home stadium followed by a strong finish that let's us flirt with 8th and Europe, but ultimately end boringly as lower half of midtable.

I’d take a comfortable boring mid table season at this point

Re: What are you expecting from 2025/26
me neither. Absolutely pointless. Sort the fucking squad out, sort out the tactics, be clever and be in the challenge for Europe. We should be striving to compete with Brighton, Brentford, Forest, West Ham, Palace etc
Re: What are you expecting from 2025/26
If you make a bad start then it's very difficult to actually achieve anything. Palace looked class second half of last season but barely finished ahead of us in 12th because they'd made such a rough start.
It's why I've been so frustrated with the summer we've had, if we go into the season under-prepared which is almost inevitable at this point then it's likely to be another relegation battle for us.
We don't know how the 3 promoted sides will fare but it shouldn't be assumed that the trend of the last two seasons will continue. We've been pretty fortunate the last couple of seasons with how bad the promoted sides have been, but that will run out eventually.
I was excited for the season but they've ballsed it up imo.

Somewhere between 8th and 12th for me, depending on the quality of the signings.

Re: What are you expecting from 2025/26
The other thing with promoted sides is they arrive with winning habits and winning mentality. That counts for a lot. Sure, over the course of the season they get battered but starting positively, with memories of winning games together recently is something I’d love for us to do. We had a decent end to the season and some good vibes there. If we could have kept that through the preseason it would have made a difference to the mentality of the squad. Marginal gains.Shogun wrote: ↑Sun Jul 27, 2025 10:50 am If you make a bad start then it's very difficult to actually achieve anything. Think some are confusing what they want, with what they expect.
Re: What are you expecting from 2025/26
Id very happily take boring mid table with some foundations for future excitement I think.

Re: What are you expecting from 2025/26
I’d be happy to forget Europe this coming season, improve the squad, improve the league position, then get everything in place for a proper go in 12 months by improving the squad even further. I think that’s when we should be aiming for Europe
A decent cup run would be nice for a change

I dont think we will achieve Europe but I definitely want to be mid way through the season with a glimer of hope and excitement that it is possible.
