Watching his highlight vids and I can see the interest. Tall, good runner, decent finisher.

But you watch these videos and you can just tell its going to be a shock when the CBs hes up against will be much more aggressive and strong. He won't get the same headers from 6 yards out as easily and won't be overpowering defenders here like he seems to do in Turkey.

Sell Beto, this lad comes in with a buy option and I can understand that. Not convinced it'll work out but Beto isn't working either so maybe it doesn't make a difference.

Reading a reddit post on this rumour and one comment stood out a little:

"Fener fan here. He’s world class with headers if he gets service, decent speed and work rate, streaky but can be a good finisher. However he is terrible with the ball in tight spaces, can’t really dribble the ball, and has limited link-up play. All in all he’s not a good choice for a contender but scores a bunch when his team plays counterattacking football and only asks him to either 1) Shoot the ball 2) Run behind the opposition."

Sounds like another people will get frustrated with in terms of link up play like Beto, but does seem to be aerially more of a threat which I guess is helpful as we do still try and cross the ball a lot.

It's not the world's greatest options, but what are the alternatives?

Stay as we are with Barry starting the majority and carrying way more on his shoulders than he should be, with Beto stinking the place out when he's on the pitch and actually making our ability to play football as a team worse? It's not going great is it?

Sign another up and coming development prospect and have him and Barry compete for starts? Not really going to be great for us or the players.

Splash out on an established quality striker? That's not happening for a myriad of reasons.

Get this lad on loan with no obligation to buy and see how he does over the next few months? On the basis that his all round game cannot be worse that Beto's and you'd think there are some potential goals from him, then we probably have a minor improvement at least. If it doesn't work out then we don't sign him.

So I suppose the only real worry is if he performs well enough that we sign him but then regresses next season. Which is possible of course.

I don't love this one, but I'm not too upset about it either as I can understand some benefit to it.
