And The Bobble said Romano was a bit premature, and things werent advanced with us at all.Kerryblueboy wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 10:21 am Romano quoted us as having bid for him so yeah there is evidence but you keep banging the dyche drum it’s plainly obvious any young player looking to play wouldn’t come here under him

Re: Jadon Philogene
Maybe so but the main point is young player gets the chance to go to us or Ipswich and chooses them why
Re: Jadon Philogene
Did we have a bid accepted? No way on earth were we going to pay £21m for a player who wouldn't even improve us right now.Kerryblueboy wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 10:21 am Romano quoted us as having bid for him so yeah there is evidence but you keep banging the dyche drum it’s plainly obvious any young player looking to play wouldn’t come here under him
He's gone to Ipswich because they've paid a lot for him, not because of anything to do with Dyche. We can't compete with them on the fee and nor should we for someone that won't move the needle for us.

If that’s what you think fine it was on sky there a while ago that the player preferred to move to Ipswich it’s not 21 million handed over in a briefcase it’s over the length of his contract so might not be much up front but anyway I look forward to some plodder coming in on deadline dayAjaxAndy wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 10:28 am Did we have a bid accepted? But, the main point your raising isnt relevant. People in the know have said we never agreed a deal, so name me one player that has done what you are saying?Kerryblueboy wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 10:27 am Maybe so but the main point is young player gets the chance to go to us or Ipswich and chooses them why

Re: Jadon Philogene
The whole world knows Dyche has got the rest of the season at best. If the player is unaware of that you'd have to question his interest in football in general.Kerryblueboy wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 9:30 am Having his Ipswich medical this morning another sign of dyche holding us back young player not wanting to come and play for the dinosaur
Re: Jadon Philogene
Because we never had a bid accepted. It's just such a pointless thing to complain about because it's not something that actually happened. The player didn't choose Ipswich over us for any reason other than they agreed a deal with Villa and we didn't.
I don't understand why everything has to come back to Dyche, it's just weird.
Re: Jadon Philogene
It would have been ridiculous to pay more for a player than was paid in the summer who has not shown that he can make it as this level yet. If anything, doubts are likely higher now.
Huge overpay from Ipswich, but they will be ok going back down with a young player who has more room to improve there than at Villa.

Re: Jadon Philogene
I would imagine that's it. Villa have taken a profit and another batch of potential add ons. We were probably hoping to get a bargain not pay a premiumCantoffee wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 12:35 pm It would have been ridiculous to pay more for a player than was paid in the summer who has not shown that he can make it as this level yet. There's a lot to be said for both how high the wages offer is and where your Mrs wants to live.
