I think it'll be from next season. The controversy of a relegation by points would create too much noise... appeals will drag it out too. Easiest option for them
Not sure they can do that. Suspended maybe but I'm not sure they can delay the punishment

None of you are sacking football off if we get more than 2 points.
Honestly i'm on the edge.
I have only watched one game live that didn't involve us since xmas, and that was only because i was out with some mates.
I have hardly watched motd all season, and i know that a big part of that is because we have been on a winless run for months.
I have been in love with the game for well over 55 years, but there's so much about it i dislike now.
Really i know i wont sack it off it will just add more fuel for the flames

I'm where you are. Don't watch other teams apart from the odd game where the result matters to us. Not sure I've seen MOTD all season. I really don't like football. Stuck though cos I love Everton

What are we all expecting?? It's genuinely a lottery. Will it be more than 6 because its a higher amount?? Will it be 33% of the punishment because its just 1 year. Will it be less because its more mistakes of the past?? Will it be 4 because that's what forest got.
Feels like it could be anything from zero to 10 and there's literally no formula in place to make a genuinely educated guess
How the hell anyone can have a guess at what we are going to get i don't know.
They haven't got a clue what they are doing themselves.
As you say could be anything from 0-10
A complete and utter shambles, with no rhyme or reason to say what they have done so far

Suspended is the same as a delay... like a Suspended sentence. The process has been confusing to say the least... avoid controversy is their best outcome
I can completely understand people feeling close to throwing in the towel.
The last few seasons have really taken their toll; in a bid for self-preservation, I've tried to engage less and less as the writing has loomed increasingly on the wall each season.
The points deductions, the constant barrage of shit from the management and threat of administration, seemingly having to rely on 777 as our knights in shining armour, has just sucked every last ounce of enjoyment out of supporting us.
Added to all this, I lost my Dad back in November, the day after the United game, just after the points deduction was announced. I just don't really care any more, it doesn't mean the same. I mean, obviously, I love Everton - we've come away to Dublin for the weekend and I've checked the score every 30 seconds this afternoon.
But it's all a mess. It's hard enough finding a reason to carry on each day, but thinking about this clusterfuck and what may lie around the corner is just too much to bear.
Still, a crucial win today, and that's about as much as we can hope for at the minute.

Whatever the points deduction is, there has to be an automatic appeal for no other reason than Forest have appealed.
We can't risk taking it on the chin, Forest being third bottom, us 17th and they win their appeal with no course of action available to us.
Premier league have fully dropped a bollock in terms of process design on this one.
What do we do if we appeal because Forest have - then find their penalty is increased?

No its not. The punishment would only happen if there's another breach. The post I replied to was suggesting we'd be given a deduction but for the start if next season

Stay strong brother! You’re more important to more people than you realise.
Sorry to hear about your dad and the timing.
I just keep thinking it can’t possibly get any worse. And then when it does, I just think “Ok then, THIS time it can’t get any worse!”
Rinse and repeat.
But one of these times we’ll be right and it will start to turn around x

Thanks mate, I appreciate it. You're right, it has to change some time soon, it's just hard to see a sustainable way forward.
The matches are such a rollercoaster - we all know the likely outcome and exactly how we're going to play and yet they offer the only ray of hope. The Brighton match a few weeks ago was a case in point, that was a real hammer blow.
Anyway, I'm sorry to have deviated. It was more just trying to say that I don't think any of us will ever stop supporting Everton, but I can fully understand why people are reticent to over-commit their time and emotion at the moment.
