Not only in believing that £20m replaces his current quality, but also in believing that we will have £20m to spend on a player.

I think with the current manager and system we won't miss Jarrod if we spend £20m on a CB, we've even been linked with a highly rated young 6 foot 5 CB for that price.sam of the south wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 5:20 pm I admire your optimism here, Andy.

I don't disagree on the spending part necessarily... Although if we make £75m PSR profit on Jarrod and buy a £20m CB on a 5 year contract we'll only actually be paying £4m for him this season, which I think is feasible.

Re: Jarrad Branthwaite
Who knows how much we'd be able to spend? Plus, we may miss out on first-choice targets if we can only spend after June.
I know we wouldn't get at much towards PSR for Onana but it'd be much easier to replace his contribution, which is quite hard to quantify. I think Branthwaite is crucial to the team and would be much harder to replace. Let's not forget, £25m got us Michael Keane. And how much was Godfrey?
Pie in the sky at the moment, though, I suppose. If we need to sell, we need to sell; just have to hope we can get as much as we can.

Re: Jarrad Branthwaite
I’m with Andy on Dyche being able to replace what he offers in our system for £20m.
Remember this is the same Dyche who brought in Tarks for free and at Burnley had Mee and Keane looking like good players.
Also, he doesn’t really need his CB to be able to pick a pass, we can shop in the unfashionable pure CB bucket which brings the price down
