Won 9/11 duels on the ground at the weekend.
And you can see from his goal the way his tenacity and quick feet wins the ball back. It looks lucky as fuck, but it's not because he contests every ball and that will get you opportunities if you do it enough.
Not comparing him as a player, but it's something Suarez used to do. Get the ricochets off defenders legs or get the quick nutmeg and away with the ball.
Scrappy little street baller.

His custard cream sized shinpads always cause me great concern that some jobber is going to take him out.
Ugh, which snide are Liverpool going to get to do a Suarez Mirallas reducer on our magic man

You can definitely add Rooney to this list, Arteta and Pienaar too. Deulofeu, perhaps, to a lesser extent?
But fuck me, this lad is brilliant. He's so good to watch and is one of the many beneficiaries of Moyesy's approach.
Love watching him with Gana too - feel like he's replaced the Danjuma-shaped hole in Gana's life after last season.
Rooney and Deulofeu for sure. Not so much the other two.
Not saying he's better, I'd prefer Arteta than him.
But without exception, whenever the ball goes to him I think we're going to carve out a chance. No matter where he is on the pitch
The club's going to be in a better financial situation, plus the ground, plus I think he really likes the club, so I don't think we need to worry about him moving on for at least a couple of years. Also he's moved around quite a lot lately, so I imagine he'd like to settle somewhere for a while.

I was thinking that Saturday.
Feels a bit negative thinking like this already, but it’s where we are.
He’s 6 months into a five year contract, am sure that with the excitement of a new stadium, new owner and new manager he will want to see how far we go, might have to improve on his £45k a week salary sometime next season if he keeps this level of performance up though.
I'm not convinced he's actually quite at the level he'd need to be in order to get a big money move tbh. He's a fantastic player but I couldn't imagine an Arsenal or Man City coming in for him as he's not elite level.
I think he's probably the perfect player for us and we're the perfect club for him. If we can become more of a mid table team and then push towards Europe over 3 seasons it'll be hard to find a team who'll offer him more than we can in terms of level that he'd be playing at.

Not this summer, but next he could be with the right coaching and a way of playing that plays to his strengths. Looks to be a perfect replacement for Bernardo Silva down the line to me.

He may not be elite level yet but all the makings to be there. Surprised you think he is a mid table player.

I think he has a great set of attributes but he lacks maybe one or two key things to be a player for one of the top 4.
He's probably a Europa League or Conference League standard player potential wise, but if we can get mid table and start pushing towards those places there's not much reason for him to look elsewhere.
Up to us really to make sure we move forward as a club and get ourselves in a position where we don't need to sell to stay afloat and also be a place that matches good player's ambitions.

Disagree but sound!!
Fair enough, I think like most players when you aren't a club challenging for honours it's best to try enjoy them while they are ours. If he's good enough he'll get snapped up which would be a shame but also means he's probably given us many amazing moments which is not a bad thing at all.
I'm just hoping he's sort of our new Baines, Cahill, Jagielka type where he's utterly boss for us but maybe not quite good enough for a team challenging for leagues and champions leagues.
