Re: Everton Membership
Bottom line is do you choose to buy into the carrot, with the hope of getting a ticket? Millions do the lottery every week with way worse odds

Re: Everton Membership
There are folk who would love to go to many, or even all, but it’s not financially viable. So stretching your budget to at least go and see one game in our new stadium to feel a part of the club you love is the mission and the extra £60 might just make it impossible. I’ve been there myself.
Re: Everton Membership
That’s a very specific example of person though. There really won’t be many people like that, if at all, any.
People complained last year at how difficult it was to get a ticket on general sale.
This membership makes that easier.
For the overwhelming majority of people a £60 one off payment to get priority for football tickets that cost the same price isn’t an issue. The extra £30 people are paying is just an inconvenience.
Charing people for their loyalty. It’s the way things are when you have a growing fanbase.

Re: Everton Membership
Everything was going to go up with a new stadium, it's £25 up on last season but it's getting priority access a day earlier than you got last season for £35. I moaned a lot about the way they did it last season but I don't think this is too bad and certainly not a "rip off". You could see last season when they introduced the 15 game priority that a lot of people use their membership for a lot of games, there won't be that many people that pay for it just to go to one game and if they do the chances are they're making a day out of it so £60 on to their day or overnight stay isn't going to be a massive amount more. It's sounds a lot if you only use it once but if you get to three or four games it's only putting £15-£20 on to your day out, you'll probably not get a burger, chips and a drink for that in the ground. Chances are you'll know someone with membership who'll get you a ticket or a family might buy a couple between them and go to the odd games, anyone making a night of it can buy a hotel package that are usually reasonably priced too, I don't see a lot of single use buyers.
Re: Everton Membership
Black mail.
The change in the membership last season was bad enough. After agreeing to the system to be used they EFC decided to move the bar and created another set of rules to apply for ticket.
Now pay an extra £25 quid to have 1st chance of a ticket. Black mail.
Me I decided not to give in to Black mail. 5 years season ticket holder. Let go so some body else could get. Went onto waiting list 2 seasons after. This is what you get. Black mail not content with £35 for a chance to get a ticket.

Blackmail is the act of demanding something, typically money or a specific action, from someone by threatening to reveal damaging information about them. This information can be true or false, and the threat can be explicit or implied. In legal terms, blackmail is defined as making an unwarranted demand with menaces, with the intent to cause loss to another or gain for oneself or another.

Re: Everton Membership
Just because you can afford this doesnt mean others can. I can afford it just about, but its the principle of having to pay £60 for the chance to pay £50 a ticket.
Cant you see that it is frustrating? Doubling the cost is always going to have grumbles.
And it kind of is blackmail in a way, cos without paying this, then you prob cant get a ticket. Who knows if they will go onto general sale ever.
