We have to take whatever they give us. There's no veto.

We do and the worry at the moment is that we are going to have to take the same old rubbish that we have been served up for the last 10 years.

I only caught the second half yesterday, so I missed the reported good performance in the first half. I'll have to take peoples word for it that we were good, but I do know we were absolutely dreadful in the second.

It's definitely a good thing that we're playing Prem teams in pre season, perfect barometer for the club to watch and make sure we nail down some quality signings.

Expecting relegation form for as long as we play without a new CM, full back (right or left) and new winger. Once they're bedded in, depending on how good they are, I estimate around 12th.

I think we'll finish 14th at best.

I dont think we'll see the level of self destruction we saw from a few teams last year and I think we have too much work to do to turn things round last year.

We're coming back from years of mismanagement and it's not something we can fix in a single window.

Agree with this - likely is 12-16 but a bit of confidence and a run of form and you never know

Moyes doesn’t survive a 14th placed finish.

He does surely, zero pressure from the club, they aren't expecting anything at all

Depends how we finish 14th.

If we find ourselves in a relegation scrap around December I think he’ll be under pressure from the fans and that will filter to the ownership.

If we’re midtable then have a drop off it wouldn’t seem as bad.

All depends on the squad of course. At the moment we are fully in trouble of going down and have the 17th worse squad in the league.

If we sign six more players of decent quality then he’ll be expected to have us top half.

Friedkins don't mess around, they sacked De Rossi within like a month of the season didn't they?

Pretty clear Moyes will be taking no blame for it based on his interviews and considering a poor transfer window would be the reason for a low finish then rightly so.

I'd like some good new players to make a squad!

If not it will be mid table with a fair amount of dross thrown in..

Sweet blessed, not worried about relegation or financial mismanagement, Boredom.

Traditional slow Everton start of losing at home while we bed in the new home stadium followed by a strong finish that let's us flirt with 8th and Europe, but ultimately end boringly as lower half of midtable.
Signings like KDH are exactly what I meant by this !

And that isn't meant as a slight. We need a solid and sensible and unglamorous base to build from. I guess another/better word for boredom is stability.

Weird that this thread was started by a spammer, it's one of the better threads they've started. :)

Being had over a barrel by Southampton was NOT what I was expecting this season.

I’m hoping for mid table comfort maybe a cup run with the squad we have a few decent additions and could be top half I’m expecting the 3 promoted teams to struggle plus Brentford and Fulham to be in the relegation mix
