I know it was 5th because of the coefficient of English clubs but I don't know if it rolls over?

It's decided each year based on the average performance of our European teams. Next season being 5 is only confirmed because we've already too far ahead. We might not know about the following season until the end of next season

If we get the recruitment right I don’t see why we shouldn’t put ourselves amongst the clubs like Fulham, Brentford, palace, Brighton as a midtable team that can put a challenge for europe if things go well.

Time to forget the last few years. Put some pressure and expectations on the people working in the club to actually achieve something and take us forward.

Certainly shouldn’t be after a good window.

Brighton always seem to have a great squad but rarely do anything in the league.

If we had moyes at the start of the season we’d probably be in and around those teams.

I think we're miles off in terms of team quality. A good window and we will probably be a good midtable side. A top top dream window and we can draw level with where those sides are now - and I'm sure we can expect them to want to kick on as well.

Tbh Moyes has a lower win % than dyche so far. He's done great and we needed the wins we got, but his ppg in this season is <50 points and we don't look like breaking much higher than 40+ this as it stands like. We are some way off.

I don't think we can't do it and I expect us to be closer to 50 than 40 points next year and I think that would represent progress, but genuine European interest I don't think we'll be genuinely in consideration for that unless we just hit a mad rhythm.

Any talk of champions league might wait until at least year 3, as even if we're lucky enough to get there by then, it'll be doubtful we'll have anywhere near the squad to compete in it, as well as the league.

We'd need every transfer to be a win, depth and quality, and it just doesn't happen like that, to even the best run clubs.

We have to be realistic else we're setting ourselves up for disappointment. We've made more funds out of liquidating our squad than any club in the UK in the last 5 years, and have barely avoided 3 relegations on the trot.

Having Moyes settled makes the biggest difference - Fulham are likely to lose Silva in the summer to Spurs or the Saudis, Glasner and Frank will be in demand as soon as other jobs come up. A good opportunity for a strong season.

I think we've seen from Lukaku that what happens in those situations is that you add tons of goals, fail to kick on as a club, and then sell the player who added those goals.

If the club doesn't move at the same speed ac oss the board you just become a vehicle for selling attackers.

Of course id take a 20 goal a season striker if we could find one, but we need a squad and we need it to be sustainable progression.

I just look at the scoring charts and see Wood, Wissa, Mateta and Strand-Larsen all around 15 or more goals and think is DCL/Beto really the best we can do? There must be decent strikers out there for us.

That’s the minimum aim. Get amongst those teams then see if we can challenge for Europe which seems to get easier every year.

Just a few improvements in areas we need will see us move up the table I reckon.

That is still very possible as it’s hard to see spurs and United being as bad as they are, but the teams above us are always susceptible to a drop though.

They all look like good teams with good managers though which is a concern but some of them will drop hopefully.

If we finish around 15th, the summer transfer window and the appointment of Moyes will have been a failure.

Moyes is aiming quite high thankfully.
