Am sure City won’t let him run down his contract and let him go on a free nor do they seriously expect anyone to pay £50 million for a near 30 year old with one year left on his contract. His £100 million fee has will have been amortised all bar about £17 million quid so if I understood correctly yesterday (tongue in cheek) they could sell him for £20million and still make a profit !

Cos we see him bevvied after City had won the league or champions league - people have this picture that he’s got a beer gut and sinks 12 pints of Stella on weeknights and has a sharing kebab to himself

Fella is absolutely ripped, super talented. Total joy to watch him yesterday , he’s the main man here
Watched something about him recently and he was on the drink loads at Villa and caught on the nitrus oxide too. Think he's always been a party boy.

Only have to look at the drop off of Rooney Vs Messi and Ronaldo to see the difference it makes.

You can be ripped and not take care of yourself, they're different things.

I'm not sure I can cope with that so called £50m first option being mentioned every 5 minutes on here this season, when it is and will be almost completely irrelevant next summer. We will not pay that, nobody will pay that (except perhaps a Saudi team), it's a figure that will be the starting point for negotiations if we and Grealish decide we want another year or beyond.

We shouldn't be getting hung up at all at the moment on finances of a deal that almost certainly won't happen (the £50m I mean). We should all be thinking about how Grealish will tear the Wolves defense to shreds next Saturday. We have a very special player.

The Nitrus oxide thing was when he was a kid

He’s in his prime and in boss condition

Hence why he was the best player on the pitch yesterday and man of the match

Have a bit of positivity mate and enjoy watching one of the best natural talents the country has ever produced propel us to a higher level rather than worrying about tabloid shite 👍

Really not concerned about whether he signs permanently or not, certainly not at the moment. That’s for talk in April or May.

For now, let’s just enjoy the ride.

Can we just put these stories, rumours and the £50m to bed until they become (if they ever do) relevant? We’ve just seen a class performance by a quality player at our world beating stadium on the sunniest of days down by the Royal Blue Mersey.

I know we have a fear of positivity as Blues but, Jesus, it’s not even 24 hours since the final whistle and he’s just started in his first game. I’m sure there will be enough shite for you and the rest of us to moan about as the season progresses, but I’d just like to revel in this one for another day or two. Cheers.

It's not really tabloid shite though, he did a video during Covid telling everyone to stay at home etc, then went to a party, got bevvied, smashed his Range Rover and did a runner and got banned from driving for 9 months and fined about £90k. But it was 5 years ago and he's probably a bit more sensible now and hopefully having a young kid will give him even more focus but it's not like he's been an angel over the years.

Back to the football in the pitch though..... I thought when he did his interview after signing that he sounded genuinely motivated, and his performance yesterday seemed to validate that.

Apart from the obvious quality he showed, his work rate and effort was brilliant yesterday. Especially loved that bit 1st half where he got tackled in the corner, almost won the ball back whilst on the ground, and then got up and made a great sliding recovery tackle.

I'm firmly in the let's just enjoy watching a genuine top quality player in an Everton shirt and appreciate it for now camp. Let's see what things are looking like next May.

Yeah his work rate really surprised me, especially as he's not fully match fit. Wasn't afraid to roll his sleeves up and do the dirty work.

Agreed, we’re still recovering from Mosh-itis

I’m not inclined to be bothering about PSR shite as I’m allowing myself to think the new owners actually know what they’re doing - until they prove otherwise.
