To me, he’s the manager of MY Everton. Really hope it works out, starting with the Villa game.

As fans, we just need that spark of belief.

It is nice to have a manager who seems to adore the club.

His biggest challenge other than getting us scoring is trying to find a way to make the players accept some responsibility when on the ball.

Great example was on about 75 mins and we had a goal kick, it went to Branthwaite - Tarks - Pickford - Gana- Branthwaite - Gana - Tarks - Young - Tarks - Branthwaite - then Pickford booted it because he was about to be closed down.

They said in the commentary Moyes has asked them not to go direct unless the pass is on, which is great, but which of them is going to take responsibility to actually do something with the ball? In that example they treated it like a hot potato and it put us under loads of pressure as a result.

See also Young's suicidal back pass that Watkins should have scored from.

See Branthwaite aimlessly stabbing the ball to no one for their goal.

I'm not sure what the answer is as we don't seem to have a single player comfortable on the ball (Lindstrom maybe) other than Ndaiye but his skill is to dribble not to pass.

I think we'll be ok, if you're in games you'll get points sometimes and I felt we were in that game today, but it's not an easy fix this for Moyes imo.

Its probably one of them yes. but I think its not just about taking responsibility with the ball. After playing defensive football with no possession for two years they also lack movement and pace in the game. Our players got closed down very quickly and you could see that we were not comfortable with the pace you’ll need to stay in possesion.

But I am impressed in how they handled it given the oppositions quality and that our players havent been practicing link-up play for years.

They haven’t been coached to pass the ball properly for a long time.

You could see they were petrified when they had the ball in their own half.

Some very sloppy passes and poor performances out there tonight but it does feel like dyche has sucked all the confidence out of the playing squad and it will take a long time to get it back.

I’m not sure moyes digging the players out like he did will work. We’ve had that all season and it didn’t get a reaction.

They need some sort of positive communication imo.

They’re good players. Premier league players are not as bad on the ball as these lads have showed this season.

So many positional misunderstandings tonight which is to be expected given the limited time and change in instructions.

Nothing more frustrating to watch than the man in possession playing a ball around the corner to a teammate who’s making a run behind the defense instead of showing for it. These mistakes were to be expected a bit and will get better soon but still no fun when you’re chasing a goal.

Whoever plays behind Dom needs to have some understanding so they don’t compete for the same balls or get too isolated from him. I want to see Ndiaye in this role at some point to see if we can make more of his ability to receive the ball on either foot and dribble in either direction. Even just getting him to hold the ball a bit in the center to eventually release a teammate could be useful.

Didn't see the second half of the interview but quite liked what he said myself. Think there'll be a few players from that team that won't be playing much for the rest of the season and I'm not sure we'll miss them. I think the incredibly low standards are one of the biggest issues at the club and him pointing out and acknowledging how bad they were on the ball was something I wanted to hear.

I think it says a lot about how low our standards have been dropped that David bloody Moyes even has much higher standards!

I’d possibly swap Lindstrøm for Garner, but think that system suits our players. Also think Harrison would be much better in the LWB role.
