Moyes said after the game: "We're trying but whether we get anything at the end of the line, I don't know. The club would like to add players but it's a difficult market right now."
Nothing groundbreaking there, but apparently we are trying to add.
January Transfer Window
Re: January Transfer Window
Shouldn’t waste our money in January, never value for money, look at what we did today, decent performances from Barry, Patterson and Rohl, then think Ndiaye, Gana, Dewsbury-Hall Hall, Branthwaite, Keane, Coleman, all back within a week or two, they’ll be like new signings !

Re: January Transfer Window
Don't think we should shy away from it myself. Decent position in the league, positive vibes to attract better players who might looking to get to the World Cup. I actually think it's an excellent opportunity to add some quality. Don't need to go crazy, but a quality loan or two with an option to buy would be perfect.Escalator wrote: ↑Sun Jan 18, 2026 10:24 pm Shouldn’t waste our money in January, never value for money, look at what we did today, decent performances from Barry, Patterson and Rohl, then think Ndiaye, Gana, Dewsbury-Hall Hall, Branthwaite, Keane, Coleman, all back within a week or two, they’ll be like new signings !
Great result today, but we do still have areas that could use the bump in quality.
Re: January Transfer Window
We have the luxury of not being desperate, so we only need to sign and only should sign players who are either sensible, cheap short term fixes. Or the unlikely chance a long term first 11 improving target is available at sensible price.

Re: January Transfer Window
Desperate for a left back imo. Absolutely desperate.
The rest is looking ok for what we’re looking to achieve this season.

Re: January Transfer Window
Definately think there is room for a loan but I still don’t see a permanent transfer coming in.
That result and performance yesterday would have pleased Moyes so much given that a lot of the lads are squad players at best and have shown that they can step up when needed.
Gana and N’Diaye coming back means a lot for the squad and we can finally start looking forward to getting a proper first XI back on the pitch.

Re: January Transfer Window
The difference playing an actual RB was good to see. Patto ain't brilliant but he's not shit either, unless you judge on very limited game time or post injury form. Keep him in and then judge over time
Re: January Transfer Window
With a fully fit squad we don't really need a mid season overhaul.
Patterson coming back looks to have averted that crisis until the summer and Ndiaye will add another dimension to our attacking options especially at home.
If someone is desperate for a striker for any reason then selling Beto might be an offer we can't refuse but other that that not sure where we strengthen, with 6-7 players coming back into contention soon.

If we sell Beto then we’ll need a replacement, but if we can get money for him then we should. And arise sir Keano.Bumble wrote: ↑Mon Jan 19, 2026 10:57 am With a fully fit squad we don't really need a mid season overhaul.

Re: January Transfer Window
I don't think we're desperate to buy but if we have funds then looking at players who are out of contract in 6 months and might be available on the cheap would be a good idea like Harry Wilson or Ryan Sessegnon at Fulham.
The likes of Wilson might have better options in the summer as a free agent but he's 28 and not reliant on pace so could easily be our RW for 3-4 years

Re: January Transfer Window
Sort of get what you're saying but at the end of the day.... prior to yesterday it was a case of on here from most people...get rid of him..hes a waste of money...he's crap etc etc etc...I think it's more a matter of timing.....with the players to come back in....when they come back in...it's the 19th Jan basically 12 days left....so is it a case of we can be more selective of getting the right players in... if and when they become available ? rather than buying for buying sake ?Escalator wrote: ↑Sun Jan 18, 2026 10:24 pm Shouldn’t waste our money in January, never value for money, look at what we did today, decent performances from Barry, Patterson and Rohl, then think Ndiaye, Gana, Dewsbury-Hall Hall, Branthwaite, Keane, Coleman, all back within a week or two, they’ll be like new signings !

Re: January Transfer Window
My worry is that he’s got tunnel vision and believes JOB can do a job on the right, especially with Keane and JB coming back next month.
Re: January Transfer Window
As always, if the right deal comes along - make it.
If not, we have no reason to be held over a barrel this season. Even abject failure for the next 4 months would still probably result in a finish that would be considered a success in recent years.
