Great to be back being a true Evertonian rather than the couple of months of slight optimism I recently had, some heady days that will live long in the memory.

We've had good times.

Accrington 1-1 Everton
Blackburn 1-0 Everton
Bournemouth 3-0 Everton
West Ham 2-1 Everton
Man United...
Roma...

This pre-season is exposing just how far off this squad is. It's not like we've been unlucky either, felt like we barely touched the ball against West Ham.

Still at a 6/10.

Fully expected what’s happened on this tour to the performances to moyes comments in the press.

Just another shambolic chapter in the history of Everton football club.

Flap levels will accelerate if we don’t have at least two more players in by the Roma game.

The injuries, huge amount of contracts ending and the lag in org setting from the takeover is the perfect storm.

On contracts, there’s another 7 ending this season too.

Coleman
Keane
Gana (has an option)
Tarkowski
Mykolenko
Garner

Strange that we’ve let garner, mykolenko and tarkowski get to the last year of their deals.

And not just two loaned squad fillers.

I reckon Moyes is on flap level 5 !

I genuinely think Moyes wants Coufal and Soucek in.

Reports suggest that he was the one that wanted Keane to stay.

He’s always placed a lot of faith in familiarity.

Maybe (hopefully) I’m way off, but I think he’s got a titty lip about the transfer committee, and I don’t think he’s into signings like Barry and Aznou.

I’m flapping & spiralling, clearly.

Slightly concerned about the amount of underhit back passes we’ve seen so far this pre season, fitness levels seem really poor as well

Tarks has an excuse I guess just coming back from an injury

Got a horrible feeling we’re gonna find out in the next week or so that Branthwaite has actually suffered a really bad injury and he’s out for a good while

Having the opposite effect on me. After a brief period of what passes for excitement with Everton these days I've slipped slowly back to having to summon up the energy to really care.

It's such a shame, isn't it.

Only Everton can suck the optimism out of you in the way they do.

What a load of shab, flap meter up to 7.

I’m still at a four as I believe we’ll sign players but I’ve gone up from three just because of the lack of news on “imminent” signings.

The pre-season doesn’t really surprise me - we’ll look a lot better with last season’s back five back in place though

ratcheting up to a solid 7

drives me mad the way it seems we only ever look at one target at a time then, when that obviously and inevitably fails, only then do we seek to move onto another

apart from anything else, if you tell a player you want them and have no alternatives competing for that spot at the same time, youve got no leverage to get him to make a decision
