Of which 150m-155m was to pay off the MSP loan. So actually, they’ve only added 45-50m in cashflow (to keep the lights on) for overhead expenses and normal outgoings, not for squad reinvestment.

The soon to be received TV money for the year will cover the day to day running expenses and the Onana money is presumably what we’re spending on player trading.

They can't give us money for squad investment anyway, no one can... We have to sell to buy or we'll forever exceeded PSR limits.

As long as we move players out we'll have players coming in unless something drastic changes this window, which it's highly unlikely to do so.

We need a right back badly he isn’t going to play Patterson and young and Coleman aren’t good enough for starting 11 anymore no point getting good wingers if they don’t have cover and overlapping players to play with

Personally, and I've been pretty critical of Patterson previously, I think it's time to give him a long run in the team.

We start the season without drama and it's looking like a reasonable squad compared to other season's, and by all accounts he's bulked up over the summer which points to a dedication to improve his durability.

Give him a place in the team from the off when it's not such a desperate situation and allow him to develop.

There's only so many players we can buy, and we might actually have a decent player there that we just need to give the game time to in order to reap the benefits.

Personally for me I don't think Broja is the answer. Think he will end up bouncing from bottom club to bottom half club.

Pre injury id have taken the gamble, now I think it's pretty obvious he's a very average striker.

How low is the price for Broja?

He’s not a great all-around CF but he’s got attributes Dyche likes to work with.

There could be a deal to be had depending on how desperate Chelsea are to get rid.

Soon to be 23, a few lost seasons doesn’t suddenly mean he’s cooked as a pro footballer. Would’ve expected him to do better replacing Mitrovic at Fulham, mind you.

Sure I saw 25-30m somewhere. That's too much for me. He'll be on good money and he's done nothing for years after really only 1 promising season on loan. I don't think he's a risk worth taking unless we are talking maybe 15m

Looked crap in the euros too. Was really highly rated when he was at Southampton but that's about 3 years ago. He's done nothing since and had a serious injury. Plus he's had a payrise too.

I think him and Phillips are the types that we've bought in the past. We can't be the club that gives the top clubs a way out of their mistakes.

All depends on how you buy them, right?

For relatively little, recognizing they’re a great fit for the way we play and that we have a chance to improve them massively… much better than how we’ve done business in the past.

Stars in our eyes, oh my god we have a chance to sign [insert name], tell us how much. Early days but it seems like we’re leaving that mentality behind after basically ruining the club with it.

I’m with you. Drop Broja into the £15m range and if the player’s willing to take a pay cut to fit our new wage structure… deal. I think Dyche would make something of his attributes however poor he looked at Fulham and at Euros.

Yeah it does depend. Think the problem will always be that they are on contracts they are no longer worth though. So even if its the right player the contract will probably always be more than the player is worth

On the face of it his goalscoring record is grim, although I assume most of his Chelsea appearances were as a sub.

If we were buying him straight from Southampton I doubt he'd command much more than 10-15 million.
