Call me callous but at least the injuries to Broja and Mangala came before the window closed.

Gutted for Mangala though. What a horrible injury and he's actually good.

I'm sure we're cursed with stuff like this. Mangala finally cements his place in the team, becomes pivotal to how we want to play and then gets a bad injury which means we'll probably never see him in an Everton shirt again.

I know at least this time it's a player on loan and not someone we've just bought, but gutted for both him and us.

Was thinking this earlier - at the start of the window most of us would have thought that we were decently stocked up front, and the centre mid looked set nicely. Things have changed massively now.

Could really do without any more key players going down injured now though.

At what point do other teams not loan us players because we keep breaking them?

They are so innocuous those ACL injuries. Just a knock on the wrong place to the side of the knee and it’s 6-9 months and your career in real jeopardy.

Really feel for him. He was looking like a proper player in CM and one we might want to hold onto. Time for others to step up in his place.

TBF I thought it was poor challenge at the time and immediately thought it wasn’t going to be good news.

A real shame for Mangala, he earned his place in the starting XI. Time for Timmy and Jimmy to step up.

I think Garner is a proper Moyes type player so have hope he'll do well under him. Not really a like for like replacement and also probably not ready to start matches so unfortunately I'm fairly certain we'll see Doucoure dropping back for a game or two to replace Mangala 🤮

Awkward South Park reference there given whats happened to Mangala.

He was incredible in front of goal that first half-season but barely scored after that and didn’t offer much else in terms of all-around play.

It was money fairly spent given the era and our financial situation but he was quite a mediocre player overall.
Those initial first 6 months where brilliant to be fair.

He had some crazy record carried over from Rangers to us where his last 27 or 28 goals or something came from just one touch.

I was never impressed with his over all play during this spell but it never really bothered me as I seen him as what he was, the ultimate fox in the box striker.

Think during his latter spell he just massively lost his confidence as the style of football also changed post moyes.

Can't remember exactly what we paid for him but think we got decent value that first 6 months, the ball just had to go near him in the box and he would score.

Wasn’t it Naismith who recommended him to Moyes or something like that.

I’m sure we’ll bring a couple in before deadline, but we’re probably just looking at warm bodies at this point.

I was hoping we’d bring in a couple of long term squad solutions to take the pressure off our summer recruitment requirements.

We still might but hard to imagine.

As it stands, we need 10/12 player in, this summer. Hard to see how that goes well.
