I would put this thread to bed until at least half the season has been played. We are as close to the relegation zone as we are to Spurs in 7th, and 3 off Man Utd, so patience (and some positivity) is needed.

Tend to agree overall.

Do think Wolves have a chance though, there fixtures really have been pretty brutal. They've played pretty much every top 6/7 team.

They've had:
Arsenal (away 2-0)
Chelsea (home 2-6)
Forest (away, 1-1)
Newcastle (home 1-2)
Brighton (away 3-2)
Villa (away 3-1)
Liverpool (home 1-2)
Brentford (away 5-3)

With Man City next. Brentford and Chelsea games are probably the worst looking, but others are not crazy for a bottom half team. I doubt many of the other bottom half teams would do much better with that run.

Biggest thing for them is confidence, when they do come up against some easier teams, can they pick themselves up and turn it around or remain in a funk.

What are Palace doing there? I would be expecting them to pull away from any kind of relegation issues based on recent history. Have they just had a bad run or are they genuine bottom three contenders this year?

We need to harvest points like a squirrel does nuts for the harsh December we have. Easy to slide

Sold their best player and didn't replace. I also think Mateta isn't that great and just purple patched his way towards the end of last season.

You never know.

If only we'd of held on in Bournmouth game, we'd be sat 11th, same points as 9th

Not trying to bump this to be negative, as it really wasn't a terrible result today. Just more a recap of how things stand and to see how everyone is feeling about it and the teams down there in general. We do have some tough games coming up so it's likely we'll be in the mix of these teams still come the end of the year.

14 West Ham 12 pts
15 Leicester City 10 pts
16 Everton 10 pts
17 Crystal Palace 7 pts
-----------------------------------------------
18 Wolves 6 pts
19 Ipswich Town 5 pts
20 Southampton 4 pts

Southampton and Ipswich are probably the ones you suspect are definitely going to struggle.

After that, Crystal Palace do look a bit off it and maybe the most surprising inclusion given their form last year, I still think Wolves will be ok personally they've had some really tough games and I think they'll slowly climb out of the bottom 3, then it's Leicester (probably the next most likely) and us and West Ham who are both trying to grind it out.

I suspect we'll be ok this season, but I would like Leicester to sink a bit more. West Ham and Crystal Palace have surprised me so far about how poor they've been though.

Wolves aren't as good as you think they are. They concede way too many goals and have had poor results against Palace and Brentford recently because of that whilst they were lucky for the point at Brighton.

I don't think I can convey just how bad a team Southampton are. I'm still pissed off we lost to them last week because they're so pathetic and I don't think they'll hit 20 points under Martin this season.
