It wouldn't be a transfer window without a link to Sammy Chuckweasel.

West Ham getting Summerville for £25m seems mad considering Leeds reputation!

I honestly think the whole Gnonto £28M valuation is because Leeds hate us.

Watch him go for well less to someone else late in the window.

I get the misgivings about Adebayo. I just think Dyche needs a big workhorse who defends well from the front and provides a proper target for long balls to make this thing work.

Dom can’t physically do it for a full season and is likely on his way out, Beto isn’t the right type of target despite his size, Chermiti likely needs a loan or regular sub spells to build himself up.

Whether it’s Adebayo or someone else, I think we need this particular guy. No, they are probably not going to be clinical and I don’t even think that’s the most important requirement.

For whatever it’s worth, it seems that Adebayo has worked very hard to become a PL level player given his pedigree. Whether he’s a proper late bloomer who has even more room to grow or is what he is, I think he’s got a useful profile for us in our current state.

If we can find someone to do the closing down and providing a long ball target at PL level for cheaper, that’s even better.

I'm not particularly keen on Adebayo either but he did have one of the better goal/shots efficiency ratings last season at one point, but that most of his goals come from well within the box, closer to the goal line than any other striker. On that basis I'm not sure that he suits us unless we really change the way we play the ball to our strikers.

You think?

I would assume that his chances came from that close because most of his service came from crosses which is pretty much how we feed our strikers.

I think the argument against is because we shouldn’t be spending money on a somewhat limited player who can’t grow with the team if we get new ownership and try to move in a more ambitious direction.

Surely we need a striker to score goals not be clearing corners and holding up the ball we have signed creative players this window we need a finisher

Completely agree! We are where we are and Dyche ball lends itself to this type of striker. Not that we are even linked with Adebayo but like when we signed Marcus Bent, worked his socks off, brought others into play and scored the odd goal...7. I would imagine that Ndiaye and Lindstrom might benefit from working off a guy like Adebayo, rather than Beto. That's if we can keep DCL.

Just the latest in a long line of average players our fanbase become obsessed with because they had a good game against us.

If having off Ashley Young at the back post isn’t an excuse you buy someone I don’t know what is.
