Crypto Coin / Socios
So disappointed to see the club getting involved in this scam - massive blunder:

Wow, shit like this just lends to feeling more detached from the club.

Re: Crypto Coin / Socios
I initially thought for a second when reading the title that this was a spam post.
I know we are owned by Americans now but…“$EFC” ?

Re: Crypto Coin / Socios
Genuine question, but how do we know this is a scam?
I’m assuming that there must be some genuine crypto apps out there because people are making money from it.

Re: Crypto Coin / Socios
These have been around for a few years already - there was lots of fuss originally about the suitability of the club marketing them as an "investment" around fan engagement, and pretty much every Socios fan token has followed an identical price curve. The Athletic, Kieran Maguire, and others have torn into Socios a few times.

Re: Crypto Coin / Socios
Having done some more reading about it we shouldn't be blaming this on the new owners as we launched this crypo in September 2023, I guess this is just mandated advertising that Socios paid for.
It's absolutely a scam though and all the coins launched by football clubs have dropped by 90%+ since launching as it's clearly either a rug pull or a way to "legally" insert funds where they shouldn't go. Somebody buys all the coins pre-trade at their launch price, they rise a little bit before they sell them all and the value tanks. Loads of politicians and celebrities have done similar (Eric Adams, Hawk Tuah girl, Jason Derulo, Floyd Mayweather, Trump/Melania etc).
Either way, I hope the club ends this partnership as soon as possible as it's embarrassing and is only legal because the law hasn't caught up yet

I've no idea how @Sirblue57 and @Escalator will cope with this thread, even I've not got a clue how it all works.

Some blockchain is legit but I would not consider Socios crypto as one of those.

At first I thought poor Jason Derulo, being associated with that rogues gallery, but then I remembered that he spawned thisStirlingBlue wrote: ↑Thu Jan 29, 2026 12:43 pm Having done some more reading about it we shouldn't be blaming this on the new owners as we launched this crypo in September 2023, I guess this is just mandated advertising that Socios paid for.

Never thought I'd see Hawk Tuah girl and Donald Trump mentioned in the same sentence but we live in strange times.
