Should he be welcomed back at Goodison park?

It's his choice to stay away. Nobody is holding a gun to his head.

Every Evertonian should be welcome at Goodison, he was one of our greats and deserves to be there as much as anyone, however, in his recent interview it really irked me as he took no accountability at all, which is really poor. The way he was treated was ott, but for him to take no accountability was wrong imo. So, yes he can be come and should be welcomed for his footballing achievements and contributing to those great evenings at Goodison, but he can also be a prick for his involvement in making us an absolute shambles off it, and then not having any accountability.

Since then, Sharp has remained absent. “I just think the way things happened … it’s a difficult one. To be treated the way we were, was awful,” he told The Scotsman. “People don’t know what went on but they were quick to make a judgement and could not be further from the truth. I just think the stick that I got was totally undeserved, and I thought – nah, I don’t need it.”

Welcomed back?? Absolutely not. That suggests making an extra fuss of him. He's not banned. He's allowed to attend games. He shouldn't be beyond criticism for aligning himself with a board who almost destroyed the club.

Personally I think he's a bit of a cunt and he's banned himself because his actions aren't universally popular then that's on him

Got into bed with the board at the wrong time and is now associated with them at what was a pretty toxic time and took their side if I remember correctly.

I don't think he'd get too much bother if he came back but his recent comments make it sound like he won't. Shame because he was great as a player for us and is a proper legend but he's made his choice so it's up to him if he wants to try and play the victim.

The way WE were treated. So rather than distancing himself from the likes of moshiri Kenwright and DBB he continues to align himself with them and tell us all how they were all treated dreadfully as they destroyed the club

Yeah, until that interview came out the other week then I forgot Sharpe was even part of the board at the time. It's Moshiri, Kenwright and DBB that take the brunt for all of that and rightly so. I don't think many people saw Sharpe as a serious member of that board and had he not done that recent interview and just turned up for a match then it all would probably have been forgotten about.

Made a rod for his own back really.

He wasn't a serious member of the board but he was the paid legend who was there to give them good publicity. He's another who was happy to see the club ruined so long as it benefitted him as an individual

Someone who doesn't seem to get much of a mention is tim cahill. He was in charge of a review that found the board were doing a great job. Another self serving cunt. We have some shitty heroes

I would like it if we could bury the hatchet and for him to return to goodison.
As others have said i don't think anyone blames him for the shambles the club was in, just the defence of the incompetent clowns that put us there and not in anyway standing up for the fans.
I was lucky enough to be around for that fantastic time when he was a vital cog in the wonderful team we had and it just saddens me that he's chosen to take the stand that he has and it's come to this

Says in that article that he “still has season tickets but doesn’t see himself going back” did he need season tickets to sit in the Directors box ?

No issues him coming back and using his season tickets. Don't let them go to waste though, plenty on the waiting list that'll happily use them.
I'm of the opinion he shouldn't feel uncomfortable but neither should he expect any heroic welcoming.

Would have thought more highly of him if he had come out and said that story about a fan putting DBB in a headlock was bollocks, but he didn’t.

He's been a club man since he retired, met him a few times and he's lovely and that bur it's also very clear he tows the line compared to say a Neville Southall who couldn't give a fuck.

He shouldn't have stopped going the game in the first place

Us not knowing what was really going on isn't a defence, especially when he did and said nothing. He was supposed to be our ambassador. When the shit hit he could've released a statement trying to clear things up for us. Instead he chose silence and took the pieces of silver. I have no problem if he attends but he should own his part of the shit show he was part of

Wasn’t he a non exec director who was there to advise and challenge on football matters and as a NDE didn’t get paid as a director ?
I wouldn’t know for sure….. but some people on here always pull the £ signs out no matter what they’re discussing….
