Love what Moyes has done but always feels like there’s a glass ceiling with him, just when you need him to step up a level.

Surely a manager in the twilight of his career would want as long as he could get….?
However, my point being a “short term” manager may not suit their long term strategy

I think that the point being made was that Moyes may not fit into the Friedkin's strategy, since he is in the twilight of his career, so they may see a younger up and coming manager as the way forward. That's how I read it anyway.

Ooh Good point… I never read it like that..I read it…if an older manager wanted a job he would want/expect a longer contract….
Just shows how easy it is to misinterpret something…

If Palace really is his best offer then we should go for him.

I think it'd be harsh on Moyes personally, but Ireola moves the needle, and I also think we'd see him get a lot more out of the younger players we've signed.

Wouldn't be averse to him, if Moyes moved up stairs in some capacity and they worked OK together.

There's something Moyes has and can instill that gives us more than what we're like without him.

He just gets us. Like unsworth ferguson and cadamateri. Hopefully Baines and Coleman in the future too. Employing the best people is overrated. They've got to get us

When has this idea of moving a manager to another role ever worked for anyone?

If me move on from Moyes then we need to cut ties and stop being this strange football club that's unable to cut it's ties from its past.

Lets move our current manager upstairs when one of his biggest flaws is his reluctance to work with anyone upstairs - makes sense

Let's have a look at him and see if he fancies the challenge of a bigger club in the same league.

We don't know what we will get with him and where the ceiling is and that's half the attraction.

We know where we are with the current manager and we know where that ceiling sits.

Wonder if he's got the nod from City.

I'm not 100% sold Iraola is that good.

Still pretty wary of some of these very well run club managers, as it seems like the well thought out balanced recruitment is so good at these places it feels a little like they're managing on slightly easier mode at times. Maybe that's unfair, but I would like a little more of a track record of doing well in other situations as his record outside of Bournemouth isn't super stellar is it?
