Looking back over the first few pages of this thread back in 2024 we all pretty much called the current situation.

Most of us acknowledging he would bring some stability, it would still not be a huge variant on the type of football Dyche served up and that a couple of seasons is the max limit before we look to move on as a club in a new stadium.

In the interests of fairness I think we have to admit he did a really good job last season. Weve reverted back to most of what weve been previously this season and while wasting money and a year of a lot of players careers

Its all been said but the biggest issue is he simply doesnt allign with other decision makers at the club. Personally I think they've all been wrong but they dont even start on the same page

Its going to be even harder to sign players next season. We arent coming off the good form of last season and I cant imagine many of this year's signings would recommend us as a good place to be, especially the younger 1s

I dont know what we get out of him being here next season unless its with a view to extend further.

Dyche was draining the players, took the credit when we won and deflected blame on to them when we lost - We were always going to have a bounce when he left if we made a sensible decision. We've got a much better squad that when Dyche left, some of the results have been incredibly lucky early on in the season and the squad selections recently should be a warning for next season.

In answer to your last sentence I’d say not relegated, probably.

No, you must have misunderstood. It's definitely not possible for us to get relegated and we've been brainwashed into thinking it is a possibility.
Moyes got us a bucket load of points in 5 months of last season so it can't be used to say Moyes stopped us being relegation fodder.

Or, something like that. I have to be honest, i'm struggling to keep up with the logic here.
But it's definitely Moyes fault that we all think we might get relegated because the squad is so solid it shouldn't be a consideration

He did amazing the last 5 months of last season and then he reverted back to at best par this season having wasted much of what we spent on players and doing zero in the cups

I will concede if the extent of our ambition is to not be relegated we might as well stick with him. Although the closest weve been to 18th in the last 3 seasons is this season by quite a significant margin points wise.

I think that may be hindsight or perception bias to be honest.

For years and years we kept thinking we only stayed up due to the fact the league always had 3 very, very bad teams that even the Lampards, Koemans or Dyches of the world could "out-shit".
That couldnt have lasted for ever.

31 point Moyes picked up in 19 games last year. We had 17 after 19 before him. Continuing that form would have put us on 34. Still enough to stay up that year.
Season before, yes Dyche "smashed it out the park" with 48
The season before that? 36 points
39 the year before that

So, since Ancelotti (and, granted, extrapolating without Moyes, which i know is a touch disingenuous) we have reached the 40 points mark that is considered safe from relegation once!
And that was with the entire club coming together as one and feeling hard-done by due to the points deduction. Perfect storm for a club with a chip on its shoulder.

You can't sit there and, in every single thread without exception, talk about how utterly rubbish each and every single player we have is in one breath and then say we're not threatened by relegation in the other. It's a mutually exclusive stance you are taking.

Next year, looking at the promoted clubs - are you absolutely confident, as in would you bet your own money) that there are 3 teams we are definitely better than over a season? With or without Moyes?

Not SHOULD be better. Actually player-for-player better

Yeah im very confident we are better than the 3 promoted clubs

Also I do think a lot of our players aren't very good but then the problem becomes we spent 100m on players who are apparently significantly worse

And since ancelotti weve had some god awful managers and not a pot to piss in. When do we start looking up from that?? What do we get out of another year with moyes if we'll either sign established older players who we will lose money on or young players he rightly or wrongly doesnt want and wont play

Again he was amazing last season but right across the board its been par or below this season. Poor recruitment. Awful in the cups. Poor at developing young players. Maybe par in the league

On his past record, he usually underperforms one year and then outperforms the next. Roll on next season then!

In summary when you don't have a football club i.e. board of director, Dof, CEO and manager all aligned like we have witnessed in over 10 years whether its been Brands, Walsh, Moshiri, Kenwright there will never be unity as a football club as you can't move forward collectively as one.

Get the structure right, decide what you want to be as a football club and bring a manager to fulfil that philosphy.

If the owners have any business sense about them they’ll note that Moyes is massively depreciating our assets - he wants to give time to older players who have higher wages and no sell on value whilst freezing out our potential growth assets.

You can only get away with doing that if your short term results are superb - otherwise it’s a recipe for a slow and inevitable decline

Completely unforgivable the way they've capitulated in the last 6 games from an amazing position.

Sick of the lot of them. Couldn't give a toss about anyone potentially leaving, manager included.

I'm not sure Dan Friedkin cares about Everton. Apparently he's never been to Liverpool never mind Hill Dickinson.

I honestly don't mind if the owner is emotionally disconnected. If everything he does is on business, he will still be focused on keeping us up, getting us into europe, and developing young players to sell. All purposes we share.
