That statement was horrible.

They seem to think that they'd been promoted already and have been essentially fined £200m for their crime. Despite the obvious counterpoint being that Boro could therefore claim they'd been denied their own £200m by Soton's cheating if that's how you're considering the punishment.

They cheated, pure and simple, and there's absolutely no way they could be allowed to continue in the playoffs. 100% their own fault, and objectively hilarious after seeing stuff like Harwood-Bellis doing binoculars gestures at the Boro players and their fans bring binoculars to the game. Not laughing now are you dickheads?

They haven't grasped this at all. It couldn't just be a fine or that would essentially have introduced a price which you could pay to watch opponents train.

The two options were this or a much heftier points reduction next season which would either have derailed a championship promotion push or sealed a PL relegation.

The timing of this makes it look shit but for once, I can't really blame the authorities for that, unlike the Man City case. This feels a big punishment but it also feels about right.

I think it's an indicator of the wider ''Trumpification'' of society. Nobody just takes responsibility for anything anymore, even when they are bang to rights.

southampton - 100% right that they get expelled from the play offs - cheating fair and simple - this is the 3rd time they have done this - their manager saying its done abroad and its ok - well sorry mate this is in the uk and its now against the law - clubs wont be doing this again
+
will be shouting for the boro to get promoted - hope they do
+
spurs - i only want to get 3 points - if spurs go down then thats their fault for being utter dogshit all season and disrespecting their manager on the pitch - thomas frank and also their management for appointing tudor as manager - jesus h christ
new face to be added to the slappable - maddison
+
delap - complete moosehead and glad we avoided this guy - maybe the championship is his best bet

Top bins. Lovely.

That first goal shows how a well worked corner can be beautiful, unlike the melee tactics Arsenal impose.

Emery got his tactics right in that first half. Went directly at the Freiburg central defence, got a lot of second balls and corners from it, two fine fine finishes.
Be cool or be cast out.
